I have a handful (10 or so) wav files I want to add togother into one wav file. What free program would be best?

if you've got a playlist it'll merge them in that order, or I think you can just list them sequentially like so:
    sox a.wav b.wav c.wav d.wav

Audacity is also a very nice OSS free audio editor if you need something more than simple concatenation of wav's.

All I needed was a way to string a bunch of waves together one time, for music on hold muzak for VOIP system. Yay for Bob Phillips!
