I don't have a long distance girlfriend, or a short distance one for that matter, but I saw the subject of this thread and thought it would be about flying in general so I was going to say that I'm flying Thursday up to Seattle for PAX and I'm really looking forward to it but oh well.

So I'm guessing, teenager right?
Few weeks, keep busy it will soon be over, I wouldn't call that a long distance relationship.
As for people that are actually based apart, it can work. Just like all relationships it's about both parties deciding to make it work. But that's not a one off decision.
Long-distance relationships are hard, but we mitigate the difficulty of being apart by talking often. And we see each other at least once or twice a month, whether I drive a few hours to visit her or she comes to visit me. It helps to know that it's not a permanent arrangement. I'm looking to relocate to the area where she lives in a few months so that'll be nice.
Did the job in Afghanistan fall through in the end @godmode ?
Ugh, yes. I'm always short just that one thing that they ask for. I can't remember if it was the clearance that I didn't have or the cert this time, but I never heard back.
Anyway, I've seen some more promising leads up near Sarah, I just need to stop being a bum and write the cover letters they want.
on the leaving front, I'm trying to figure out how to store and ship my stuff ... or whether I should sell it and buy everything new. But some of it is kind of nice furniture, and I'm gonna have books and clothes and stuff to store as well, so I'm thinking it makes more sense to keep it. So I guess I've got to get quotes and shit ...
I'm freaking out again about the prospect of moving to Vancouver and I'm also worried about this job I might get. I dunno. I hate making life decisions.

Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better
