Ok, here's the deal: On very short notice I need ominous songs dealing with the end of the world or the coming of some huge calamity, preferably by mystical rather than man-made means. When the Man Comes Around by Johnny Cash is the perfect example of the sort of song I'm looking for.
I've tried google but most of the songs I'm finding deal with the end of the world via nuclear war which is nice but not quite what I need.

Not mystical necessarily, but I feel any apocalypse song list might be remiss not to include it: Savatage's "This Isn't What We Meant."
And it seems like all is dying, and would leave the world to mourn

Deceiver of Fools by Within Temptation might fit the bill. It sounds nothing like Cash (it's female fronted symphonic goth metal), but it fits the subject matter to some extent.
Civics is not a consumer product that you can ignore because you don’t like the options presented.
I asked a similar question here a few years back and the best suggestion I got was Mortal by Front Line Assembly. It uses audio clips from the movie In the Mouth of Madness and I found it seriously ominous.
The spoken word segments are actually taken from a screenplay written by one of the members in GY!BE about an apocalypse. It is supposedly getting a big-screen treatment.
And these thoughts will snare and stretch you,
Until you’re so long,
That no nerve will be able to connect,
Your feet to your head
You will no longer be able to live,
Pulled thinner than angel hair,
Wrenched, so thin, that you have no end
Do not come near my bed
I’m not part of your universe
To that I’m dead
to my hurt
now inconcentrate,
attracts debris,
Which swirls round and round
Things spread from the threshold of seeing,
Towards me
But I’ve got near vision
And I can no longer see those which rule from the far side
Scraps of words, wrap, then numb me
And so I tire
Refuse to bear the weight of air, and
Exhausted, slip into the alternative reality
Awake.
Shake dreams from your hair
My pretty child, my sweet one.
Choose the day and choose the sign of your day
The day's divinity
First thing you see.
A vast radiant beach and cooled jeweled moon
Couples naked race down by it's quiet side
And we laugh like soft, mad children
Smug in the wooly cotton brains of infancy
The music and voices are all around us.
Choose they croon the Ancient Ones
The time has come again
Choose now, they croon
Beneath the moon
Beside an ancient lake
Enter again the sweet forest
Enter the hot dream
Come with us
Everything is broken up and dances.
Indians scattered,
On dawn's highway bleeding
Ghosts crowd the young child’s,
Fragile eggshell mind
We have assembled inside,
This ancient and insane theater
To propagate our lust for our life,
And flee the swarming wisdom of the streets.
The barns have stormed
The windows kept,
And only one of all the rest
To dance and save us
From the divine mockery of words,
Music inflames temperament.
Ooh great creator of being
Grant us one more hour,
To perform our art
And perfect our lives.
We need great golden copulations,
When the true kings murders
Are allowed to roam free,
A thousand magicians arise in the land
Where are the feast we are promised?
One more thing
Thank you oh lord
For the white blind light
Thank you oh lord
For the white blind light
A city rises from the sea
I had a splitting headache
From which the future's made
Once upon a time at the foot of a great mountain,
there was a town where the people known as Happyfolk lived,
their very existence a mystery to the rest of the world,
obscured as it was by great clouds.
Here they played out their peaceful lives,
innocent of the litany of excess and violence that was growing in the world below.
To live in harmony with the spirit of the mountain called Monkey was enough.
Then one day Strangefolk arrived in the town.
They came in camouflage, hidden behind dark glasses, but no one noticed them: they only saw shadows.
You see, without the Truth of the Eyes, the Happyfolk were blind.
Falling out of aeroplanes and hiding out in holes
Waiting for the sunset to come, people going home
Jump out from behind them and shoot them in the head
Now everybody dancing the dance of the dead,
the dance of the dead,
the dance of the dead
In time, Strangefolk found their way into the higher reaches of the mountain,
and it was there that they found the caves of unimaginable Sincerity and Beauty.
By chance, they stumbled upon the Place Where All Good Souls Come to Rest.
The Strangefolk, they coveted the jewels in these caves above all things,
and soon they began to mine the mountain, its rich seam fueling the chaos of their own world.
Meanwhile, down in the town, the Happyfolk slept restlessly,
their dreams invaded by shadowy figures digging away at their souls.
Every day, people would wake and stare at the mountain.
Why was it bringing darkness into their lives?
And as the Strangefolk mined deeper and deeper into the mountain,
holes began to appear, bringing with them a cold and bitter wind that chilled the very soul of the monkey.
For the first time, the Happyfolk felt fearful for they knew that soon the Monkey would stir from its deep sleep.
And then came a sound. Distant first, it grew into castrophany so immense it could be heard far away in space.
There were no screams. There was no time.
The mountain called Monkey had spoken.
There was only fire.
And then, nothing.
O little town in U.S.A, your time has come to see
There's nothing you believe you want
But where were you when it all came down on me?
Did you call me now?
Manchester Orchestra - Jimmy He Whispers (on second thought this doesn't really fit)
God knows you're on my mind
I can't tell him otherwise
God knows it's only time
Before I break the chain in my eyes
Fear keeps you hiding at night
And the creatures play ball outside
Chances are slim we are right
But I'd never think it any otherwise
So we'll find the answers in time
And the bodies pile up sky high
And I'll sail this ship towards the sky
But I'll end all alone on the other side
And if you could pull that rope just a little higher
We could dangle alone like a firefly
So Jimmy I've heard the voice of God
And he whispered fear is logical
And he said it's magic, wonderful
And he swears to him it's wonderful
And the lake you speak of, magical
So I skip stones on it, practical
And I make sure we're both wonderful
You're a brother and that's alright
You're a brother and that's alright
You're a brother and that's alright
We're brother it makes it right
Cuz his blood is so red in spite
Of the way that our sharp teeth bite
Oh the way that our sharp teeth bite
In each other during the night
With the creatures that play outside
We're the creatures that play outside
Cuz Jimmy I've heard the voice of God
And he whispered fear is logical
And the words that we heard aren't repeatable
And the thought that could kill comprehendable
And we're brothers and that's alright [x3]
Yeah, we're brothers until we die
Marilyn Manson - The Last Day on Earth (a bit on the nose :P)
Yesterday was a million years ago
In all my past lives I played an asshole
Now I found you, it's almost too late
And this earth seems obliviating
We are trembling in our crutches
High and dead our skin is glass
I'm so empty here without you
I crack my xerox hands
I know it's the last day on earth
We'll be together while the planet dies
I know it's the last day on earth
We'll never say goodbye
The dogs slaughter each other softly
Love burns it's casualties
We are damaged provider modules
Spill the seeds at our children's feet
I'm so empty here without you
I know they want me dead
there was a guy
an under water guy who controlled the sea
got killed by ten million pounds of sludge
from new york and new jersey
this monkey's gone to heaven
the creature in the sky
got sucked in ahole
now there's a hole in the sky
and the ground's not cold
and if the ground's not cold
everything is gonna burn
we'll all take turns
i'll get mine, too
this monkey's gone to haven
rock me joe!
if man is 5 [3x]
then the devil is 6 [5x]
then god is 7 [3x]
this monkey's gone to heaven
Rows of houses, all bearing down on me
I can feel their blue hands touching me
All these things into position
All these things we'll one day swallow whole
And fade out again and fade out
This machine will, will not communicate
These thoughts and the strain I am under
Be a world child, form a circle
Before we all go under
And fade out again and fade out again
Cracked eggs, dead birds
Scream as they fight for life
I can feel death, can see its beady eyes
All these things into position
All these things we'll one day swallow whole
And fade out again and fade out again
Smashing Pumpkins - The Beginning is the End is the Beginning (this is the slower version of The End is the Beginning is the End)
The sewers belch me up
The heavens spit me out
From ethers tragic I am born again
And now I'm with you now
Inside your world of wow
To move in desires made of deadly pretends
Till the end times begin
Is it bright where you are
Have the people changed
Does it make you happy you're so strange
And in your darkest hour, I hold secrets flame
You can watch the world devoured in it's pain
Strange
Climb my ribcage to
The replays run for you
Unhook my lights to peek behind the flash
For I am crystal chrome
I am shatter dome
I am kremlin king of angels avenged
To destroy the end
Is it bright where you are
Have the people changed
Does it make you happy you're so strange
And in your darkest hour, I hold secrets flame
You can watch the world devoured in it's pain
The zeppelins rain upon us
The guns of love disastrous
A shadow lies amongst you
To defy the future cast
Is it bright where you are
Have the people changed
Does it make you happy you're so strange
And in your darkest hour, I hold secrets flame
You can watch the world devoured in it's pain
Strange
Strange
In my eyes, indisposed
In disguises no one knows
Hides the face, lies the snake
The sun in my disgrace
Boiling heat, summer stench
'Neath the black the sky looks dead
Call my name through the cream
And I'll hear you scream again
[Chorus]
Black hole sun
Won't you come
And wash away the rain
Black hole sun
Won't you come
Won't you come
Stuttering, cold and damp
Steal the warm wind tired friend
Times are gone for honest men
And sometimes far too long for snakes
In my shoes, a walking sleep
And my youth I pray to keep
Heaven sent hell away
No one sings like you anymore
[Chorus]
Hang my head, drown my fear
Till you all just disappear
Well, Jesus gon' be here
He gonna be here soon, yeah
He a gonna cover us up with leaves
With a blanket from the moon, yea-er
With a promise and a vow
And a lullaby for my brow
Oh, Jesus gonna be here
Gonna be here soon, yeah
Well, I'm not gonna do nothing but wait here
I don't have to shout him
I got me no reason, yea
And I got no doubt, yea-ah
I'm gonna get myself unfurled
From this mortal coiled up world
Jesus gonna be here
Gonna be here soon, yea-m
I got to keep a my eyes
Keep 'em wide open, yea-er
So I can see my Lord, yea-m
I'm gonna watch the horizon
For my brand new Ford, yeah
Well, I can hear him rolling on down the lane
I said, "Ah, Hollywood be thy name."
Cos Jesus gonna be here
He gonna be here soon, yeah
Well I got to keep myself
To keep myself faithful
And you know that I've been so good, yuh
Except for drinking
But he knew what I would, yea-ah
And when I'm gonna leave this place better
Than the way I found that it was
And Jesus gonna be here
He gonna be here soon, yuh
I know my Jesus gonna be here
He gonna be here soon, yea-um
I know my Jesus gonna be here
Gonna be here soon, yeah
Note sure if these are what you want sound-wise, but they are both about the four horsemen of the apocalypse

I'll keep an eye out while I'm listening to spotify today at work. I know there's tons more that I'm not thinking of, although a lot of my music it tends to be more about mankind destruction via war, there is also a lot of mystical/supernatural end of the world, especially biblical, type stuff. I'll especially listen for stuff that's more ominous, less aggressive sounding since I suspect that's what you want.
