The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Fear Agent is a science fiction comic book series by Rick Remender with art by Tony Moore and Jerome Opena, who alternate on story arcs. It stars the rugged alcoholic Texas spaceman Heath Huston, the last Fear Agent, in a series of fast-paced adventures. The series is notable for its emphasis on action, adventure, and plot twists rather than realism or scientific detail; Remender claims in the first issue that "science fiction has lost its stones" and that Fear Agent is his attempt to fight that trend.
The series launched in October 2005, published by Image Comics. In September 2006, Dark Horse Comics announced [1] that Fear Agent would be moving to Dark Horse. The company will reprint the first trade paperback collection (originally published by Image), scheduled for April 28, 2007, and a second volume is planned from Dark Horse.
So this comic looks totally awesome and am I buying what I can find of it this weekend. Has anyone else read it?
Also, when people talk about EC comics, and how awesome they were and everything... is there somewhere to read these? Are there any collections or anything? Aren't they from like the 50s or 60s or something?

Here's some stuff. Kind of pricy though, like all archive/hardcover editions.

I've been picking up this comic since issue one. I first heard about it on another forum on which Tony was posting his covers for the issues. Needless to say, I was very excited about it. My comic book guy kind of looked at me funnily when I asked for it to be put on my pull list. It's at least 7 shades of awesome. Booze, broads, betrayal and adventure in space is what this book packs. The story is getting more and more interesting. The protaganist is fantastic. It's really a good read. There's already one TPB out and probably there will be a second out soon.
I went to thestore and found issues 8, 9 and 11. Awesome stuff. I really enjoy this book agreat deal. I wish I had been reading it since issue 1! I'm a big fan of the gritty pulp action, and I love space stories, so this book is double awesome! Heath is a really great character and the art is just amazing.
Next month, I will probably order all of the rest from My Comic Shop.
Oh, it looks like it's moving to Dark Horse. That's a nice tid bit of information to know. I wonder why they're moving there.
Rick Remender wants to make a Fear Agent movie. Image doesn't deal with anything like that and I guess Dark Horse will back him a little, or something, I don't know.
The important thing is there could be a Fear Agent movie.
Man I hope it is animated. It would be soooo much more fun. I just got 20 dollars from my parents for St. Pat's and I'm really close to buying the 8 issues I am missing right the hell now, but I need to control myself. I want to check out a local shop I just heard about, and I need to do some financial figuring before I throw 20 dollars on comics again.
One trade is out. There are 10 or 11 issues out. If you cannot find them locally, I suggest mycomicshop.com. They are having a sale on all Image titles this week, and have every back issue except number three. I am really close to buying them, especially with this sale, but I need to financial figuring first.
Fear Agent is in the process of moving to Dark Horse, so there is a hiatus following the most recent issue.
I've been trying to order all of the Fear Agent I am missing (I only have 8, 9, and 11) from mycomicshop.com for about three days now (they were out of #3), except something is screwed up with my bank card. The MCS people have been very nice, if only my bank would get things sorted out already.
So my order of Fear Agent is on the way. After it arrives, probably on the 8th or 9th, I will have every issue of Fear Agent except #3. I know there are only 11 of them, but it is still very exciting. #3 goes for like 15 bucks on ebay. Why is that?
(is this a discussion thread, or some wierd kind of blog? other people can write here too, and everyone should at least try Fear Agent)
I've been meaning to pick some issues of this title up, and for some reason it's just one of the ones I ALWAYS forget to grab when I'm in my local shop.
edit: I'll probably just grabe the TPB when I've got the loot next time I'm in.
I have heard that Remender delibrately closes the (four issue) TPB with a huge cliffhanger to keep people from waiting for trades that will never happen if some people do not buy the floppies.
My FEAR AGENT order is en route for deilvery! I will have them all except #3. Which is going for more than the cost of the TPB, now that I have checked. Oh well, I enjoy the hunt for backissues more than I should.
