My dad ordered an LG 55LM7600 recently and had me set everything up with his home theater.
When I first had it set up everything worked just great. about a week ago he calls me and tells me that the Netflix app on the TV is no longer putting sound out to the external speakers. (his surround sound system is a Harman Kardon AVR 80 MkII) when he uses the TV speakers you can hear everything, just not in 5.1 surround
this only happens with the Netflix App. Watching Digital cable or BluRay works just fine with sound going through the reciever
I tested the Youtube App and while sound does go to the external speakes, it is very very low volume and seems to be only on the center channel
I've tried googling, but my google-fu appears to be too weak to solve this issue
Had the same problem with a 55" LG, not sure if it was same model as you. TV netflix app would switch from receiver sound to tv speakers. Could never get it working right and had parents use the bluray player (also LG) for netflix, which did not present the surround sound issue. Not sure if there's a firmware update to resolve.
Edit: I think the TV does not fully support ARC or something.
