Just no love for annoying characters. It seems a tad unfair to the rest of the crazy raiders that I killed that I can't kill her crazy ass too.
It's not her fault she's crazy. She was normal when she was sent to Pandora, and she's not a raider; she's just a researcher who was put in a lot of shitty positions and ended up losing it because of it.
Also she does nothing but help you out, really.
So whatever, I dunno, hard to not feel like you're being contrary just to be so. Don't care anymore. Tannis is awesome and her diaries are one of the best things in the game, hands down.
So she helps you out as much as pointing you in a direction a few times and then backstabbing you to run off with the treasure only repentant after she was caught by Steele. Real pal, alright.
Also Knoxx had the best echo recordings, now that guy had a hard disappointing life.
I hate tannis because she annoys me, not because anyone likes her. Oh well, opinions! Sorry to attack your waifu guys, I'll stop!
She didn't get caught by steele, she was working with her after Dahl pulled her funding. Marcus hinted at that when he said she never used the commerce grid.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

Listen man.
This thread is a hivemind and we don't take kindly to people who rock the boat.
You assimilate and like it or you are cast out with the skag piles and spiderant hells.
Late on this, but I could care less about the borderlands plot and as a result I really couldn't tell you exactly what happened.
On the other-hand, I thought the characters were really smartly written and could tell you things about the vault hunters that I'm not even sure they directly talked about in the game.
It looks like the characters are still awesome. I doubt it, but how great would it be if they could find a decent work-around for the paragraphs of quest text without removing context for what the player is doing. They've already said that the way you are getting quests is very similar to BL1 (go to town, pick up like 5 quests), so I don't really see a way around it, but I can dream.
So is it just me or is it hard to decide what to do with Axton? I was thinking of going double missilepod turrets with a shield so it's a heavy hitting support I can attach anywhere without a nuke or double barrel.
I really miss the more direct support you had as a soldier.
I mean it's cool that I can kill the whole world with me and my turrets and give a shield bubble to my allies but I think I'll miss being able to heal my teammates and pulling out of a jam because of it. It seems like aside from the gunzerker they removed ammo regen skills, which makes me wonder if it'll become more standard in class mods or more guns with ammo regen.
Not as cool as floating boxes but I guess I can make do.

Im totally going to do double turrets with rockets and a shield and possibly longbow

I think Axtons trees are all pretty great and I want to do them all.
But I found myself in the trap of trying to think about builds with higher level caps which won't happen for awhile.
It will be pretty hard to pick one. I'll probably end up going down the two turret tree; but the two guns on a turret might be good too. The nuke one looks good but since it's a one time blast, I dunno, seems more situational than the others.
EDIT: Actually I toyed around for a bit with the talent calculator and figured out a pretty good looking build that just got to the 1 point talents in each tree, for longbow, shield, and missiles; and not going deep on any tree. It seems actually quite viable.
According to Joystiq the golden chest's guns will be leveled appropriate to you when you open the chest.
So...there might be reason to hold onto that key until you're level 50. Then again, they might not be that good of weapons, even at the level cap, so it might be better to open it earlier if you're in a drought of good drops.
It'll be a tough decision.
I want to know if you only get one chest per account, or if it's a chest per character?
I think I'd go double turret guns with slag and shield and rockets, maxing the accuracy and burst skills to maximize the lone turret offense and nearly max its defense (no longbow health boost). The slag guns will set up everything for massive damage which both the rockets and Axton and allies can then capitalize on, and between Willing, Able, Pressure, Preparation, and Quick Charge, Axton should be damn survivable.
Anyone know how long the turret lasts by default? From videos I've surmised that Gunzerking with the same cooldown time lasts 20 seconds by default (35 with the extended skill maxed), but I haven't counted the turret.
Also Tannis was hilarious and I hope we hear a lot more of her.

Account I believe. And I heard it was just a purple, so presumably if you have a good farming run at 50, it might not even be that useful
From a Gearbox post about it, the key is permanently used so it's per account.
Then, you’ve got a decision to make. See, the loot inside the Golden Chest is always of “very rare” (purple) quality and scaled to your character’s level at the moment you open the chest. If you’ve only got one Key, you need to consider: do I want some high-quality loot right now, or do I want to wait until I’m closer to the (considerably more difficult) end of the game? Do I want my Level 21 Maya to open the chest, or should I switch to my Level 33 Axton?
Someone else used quote marks in another post to suggest the gear was guaranteed to be good, but I don't know who they were quoting. The real question may be: unlock at level 50, or unlock at four DLCs level cap?
I am weak so I will probably unlock it at, say, 30. Edit: Yeah, the stuff from late-game drops will probably be way better, so I guess I'll open it as soon as I feel like I've gone on a long time relying on a few old weapons and could use a replacement.
Hopefully there is some kind of confirmation dialogue before you open it, so you don't just accidentally open it without realizing what chest you just opened.

So does the game drop gold keys randomly or do you only get like one ever? Because it'd be amazingly dumb to only have the one gold key, but I haven't heard anything much about these keys.
So, you’ve got a Golden Key. Maybe you pre-ordered Borderlands 2 from a Premiere Club retailer or maybe you were lucky enough to snag a code from a Gearbox event or giveaway -- there are a variety of ways to get a Golden Key, and somehow you nabbed one.
I'd guess there might be a few other ways to get them later.

No drops in the game, community events (like in person) or some later on online thing (like maybe if you play with a gearbox dev they can give you the hook up).
Thinking better on it, I'll probably crack that bad boy open at the start of Playthrough 2, that was always the dead zone of my P1 weapons losing usefulness, but not yet having something bad ass to make up for it.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
Probably gun damage and critical damage, but remember when you "spend" a bad ass token you get 5 of those randomly selected to spend it into, so you won't be able to just pump the stat you want every time, there is an element of chance.

Yeah I think giving out gold keys as time goes on for events or whatever would be a great idea. I wouldn't even mind like uh...$1.99 for a gold key thing you could buy on steam or something. Why not? Yes, I know some people hate the idea of things like that.

I played a crap ton of single player for the first one, think i'll jump right into co-op with this.

Its not, thats Tannis directly talking to you to get you to go after Baron Flynnt after you finish Old haven, and he punched her dog...
I remember this stuff way too easily.

Badass points?
I would assume yes? though maybe mrt is right and now they just use bad ass points which is a lot nicer than the proficiences were.

Hmm.. I'll have to reconsider my strategy putting points into everything that gets me a boost to sniper damage..
Also I don't even want to know what Curly's RoF is going to look like after 1000 hours.
