[PS Vita] Your Hotline Miami and Muramasa handheld
The letter opening mechanic in AC: Liberation can burn in hell. The case I have makes it super awkward...and I think my current letter is bugged out. I took the case off just so I could have an easy way to do it and I can NOT get it to work. Might have to kill the app and relaunch it.
Just finished my first hour of NFS: Most Wanted. It feels SO much like Burnout Paradise. There are so many wonderful little things happening all the time. I can't drive 15 seconds without running through a speed camera (and cursing that Stewapet or Greeble had already driven through it faster), or a billboard, or a security gate, or a car/race. It's really terrific.
The graphics are... pretty good. Excellent for a handheld, but I'm finding myself annoyed by the super-pixelated headlights and break lights on other cars. Performance is crazy smooth, though. Loving it so far. I really want to wipe Greeble's face off all of those billboards.
I can't buy this until I best at least one of your zen pinball scores. I'm getting on top of stewapet (for want of a better phrase!) but am nowhere near your scores yet!
I carried the White Vita bundle around Best Buy with me for like a half-hour on Saturday trying to decide if I wanted the thing or not.
I ended up not getting it. As much as I like the hardware, there's not much software that I want, and I learned from owning both the PSP and DS simultaneously that it's difficult to support two handhelds at a time.
Stinks, because it would have matched my White PSP nicely (Which was coincidentally also a Assassin's Creed bundle.)
Just finished a 22,000 point pursuit in NFS. Getting to the "Pursuit Evaded" when your heat level gets that high is very rewarding, since the city is suddenly crawling with cops, and if they see you, you lose your cool down. It becomes like a crazy puzzle trying to take side streets and park in a place where they won't have eyes on you.
This game is the balls.

wish they would have left pickpocketing how it is in AC3 instead of making it this forced touchscreen affair. I do what it says but it just fucks up constantly.

Curses, I haven't even played ZP2 since AC, NFS, and RO came out. Too many games, too little time.
AC Liberation: Anyone have any tips for getting away from guards when in the Lady Persona? You can't climb or run all that fast, you can't use the changing rooms... The best I can do is either run forever till I can elude them for enough time till I can find a bench, or kill the guards, which seems to raise my notoriety.
I’ll tell you what happens in Demon’s Souls when you die. You come back as a ghost with your health capped at half. And when you keep on dying, the alignment of the world turns black and the enemies get harder. That’s right, when you fail in this game, it gets harder. Why? Because fuck you is why.

Why my good chap, I do believe a straight knee to the balls will take the starch out of their coats.
Vagrant Story was amazing back in the day. I'm not sure how well it has aged, but I have yearned for a remake or sequel for many moons. MANY, many moons.

With the way SquareEnix is nowadays, I'm not sure they could pull off either a remake or a sequel.

FF12 is the closest thing you'd see to them attempting to revisit Vagrant Story. Which, yeah.
Anyways, the graphics have aged about as well as could be expected for a PS1 game. The translation still holds up extremely well. The gameplay mechanics... well, I wouldn't quite say it aged well or poorly because it was already very polarizing gameplay when it was originally released. If you liked it then, you will probably still like it now.

Sadly true, I am afraid.
I may grab it on my PS3 for some nostalgia action.

I just kill them. Killing witnesses is much easier than running away from guards and trying to find a hiding spot.
I just finished it completely yesterday and here are the impressions I posted in the AC thread:
Just finished and platinumed AC3 Liberation. The two problems I have with it are the story and polish. The story is a bit of a mess (similar to AC1, actually), jumping around without much exposition, but I put that entirely down to the fact that the game was rushed to make the AC3 release date. If they'd been given another 6-12 months, I think it would've been a hell of a lot better. Polish was somewhat similar but in this case, it seems like that issue was mostly on the Montreal side, as the engine itself seems to be f'n buggy in AC3 as well.
That being said, I still loved it. Gameplay is exactly what you'd expect from a console installment, the graphics are some of the best you'll see on the Vita (and thus, any handheld), the maps are really well designed, there's plenty of mission variety, the side missions are all fun and the only mini-game is COMPLETELY OPTIONAL (trading, which you can get more money from).
Having not played AC3 yet (I'll start it tomorrow), here's how I'd rank the series so far:
AC2 > AssBro > AssLib > AssRev > AC1
I really, really hope Sofia get to work on a sequel, with more time to work on it. I don't really think their talents would be put to use just putting them on the yearly AC factory line, making a 10% chunk of the game or something.
Now it's time to get back to New Little King's Story.
Unco do you ever get the ability to have collectables on the map? Either through buying maps or some other way? The stores don't have a map section at all.
EDIT: just saw your answer in the other thread. That blows. Every game should have a way to unlock collectable locations these days.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ubisoft planned on offering collectable locations as DLC, similar to the stupid Uncharted Golden Abyss DLC.
When I play Uncharted, Drake is constantly wanting to walk backwards. When I swirl the left thumbstick around, kind of hard, he stops and it controls normally.
Ugh, Vita. Just WORK.
It doesn't happen for any other games though, so I'm hoping maybe Uncharted is just super sensitive...

I wish Ragnarok Odyssey was out here.
Want it so bad.
It's pretty meh, to be honest. It starts out neat but everything your character can do you can do from the get go. After that it's just numbers going up and new hats.

I agree with Magic Pink. It's a fun time coop, but mostly when I play it makes me wish for a Vita MH. It's just lacks the complexity I really want out of a title of that sort.
That said, some of the hats you can buy are very entertaining, especially since when you dye them, some of them changed looks instead of just color. New hats is what has kept me playing. Silly I know. It must be the TF2 lover in me.
I think the combat in RO is fun enough that I keep going back to play it even if I'm not getting new combos. Weapons change appearance, armours change appearance, and hats change appearance so I'm always upgrading and trying to get cooler looking items. I get the same feeling of relief after bringing down big monsters as I do in MonHun. It's definitely not as good, but this will definitely fill the void until MH3DS hits or Sony wises up and backs up a money truck to Capcom. This is all solo too, I still haven't dabbled in Online (I'm in mid chapter 6).
I've also played some Assassin's Creed and it amazes me. Sure, there's some issues (a lot of people instantly transforming from a Witness into a civilian after I try to kill them, etc). It's Assassin's Creed though and it's awesome. I'm trying to consume this one slowly to savour it
Sony is making bundles instead of dropping the price.
The AC bundle for example is exactly as much as a regular Vita but it has a game and memory card, effectively making the Vita itself less than 200. It's not a bad way to go assuming you'll want the bundled game and you are going to need a memory card no matter what.
I don't know about the US but here in Canada stores make their own Vita bundles pretty frequently, too.

Normally that works for me too but the new weapons and clothing come so horribly slowly that it's almost like they aren't. The hats don't add any stats or abilities (which is just stupid silly) and look pretty boring so far.
Also, mages are horribly balanced; seriously don't even play one unless you have access to multi.
I know I'm late to the party but Retro City Rampage is a blast. I thought the reference-every-five-seconds style of humor would get stale, but it really holds up pretty well.
So anyone have any idea of when the price'll drop?
A permanent price drop will probably come early next year but I'm sure you'll see some in the leadup to Christmas. Other than that, there's the bundles that LockedOnTarget mentioned.
So I've decided to say fuck it and just use my US account for Vita stuff.
I've got a few PS1 games on here, but like half of them say they can't be downloaded using a PS Vita system.
Also, PSP recommendations.

Damnit. This just sold me, and I wasn't even on the fence.

Let me tell you about Demon's Souls....
Why that's ball knee talk if I've ever heard it! Or would it be knee ball? WHATEVER just bow your legs for me would you?
More than good.
Also one of the best script localizations of all time.

Nearly 20 hours down the drain, unless they can patch it.
