[PS Vita] Your Hotline Miami and Muramasa handheld
Does anyone know of a way to get a notification (SMS, email, whatever) when the PSN Store has been updated? I'm dying to get RO downloaded but I should probably try to be a productive member of society before it launches since that's out of the question afterward.
That would be an interesting system to start. I don't think there's anything official, but someone could create an unofficial update mailing list I'm sure.

Alrighty, I'm kinda liking Ragnarok Odyssey so far. Light enough to hop in and play, but has a deeper combat system than I thought it would. It's no Monster Hunter, but it sure will fill that void for now, and it's pretty. Only thing I'm down on is manual for this game (bought the regular edition, so a digital manual is default). It's okay, but there's a lot of other things it doesn't mention, nor do tutorials (so far). Like, WTF does charging 'O' do for a Mage!? Gives me a shield looking thing, or floaty particle effects on my weapon depending on how long I charge...
Any ways, if you have RO, add me if I don't add you tomorrow (sleep nao). Gotta share some gear over Near!
I'm digging RO. My only gripe is that you are locked into a weapon type. Which means I've had to sit through that intro five times now as I try things. Still it's pretty cool, definitely more PSO then MH. But, hey. I have a hammer. Thats all that matters to me.
@CorriganX: Thanks for the review. Keep us posted on the story. If the combat and movement is as fluid as you say, it sounds awesome, but if there is practically no story, then I'm not so sure. The mechanic of switching personas sounds interesting though, I just hope it isn't used as a crutch.
Do you have any way to play ACIII to see how the combat and movement compares? They really upgraded it and changed it over AssRev, and I'm wondering if it is more like AssRev or ACIII.
I'm playing RO so if you haven't added me then go ahead. Pretty sure I've got you @MoneyConQueso. Not sure on cbocobolicious since I'm on mobile and can't remember your PSN tag.
So far my biggest complaint is the same - I have no idea what these attack skills are doing. I also can't decide on mage or assassin

In RO you can actually change your class later on a whim, so don't worry about being locked into a class. Just choose what you want to start with, then at some point you can switch classes. I'm assuming that point is near the end of chapter 1.
Also, look at the manual for attack combos. They have them listed, thankfully.
To clarify, its actually the third quest in to the second chapter. Just got past that point a little bit ago.
Sword really is terribly broken compared to how damn hard it is to use hammer. Hammer I get damaged all the time. Sword does pretty much the same damage and at three times the speed with almost no blocked frames for dodging.
Still going to use the hammer, but man, dat sword.
I decided to tough it out with the mage in RO but now I'm just looking forward to be able to switch. Not a big fan. I really liked the Assassin.
I played about 20 minutes of Assassin's Creed last night too and it is really good. Looks great and plays really nice. The free running feels awesome on a portable. I didn't get a chance to kill anyone but I dig the Persona thing (changing outfits changes what you can do - blend in as a commoner, etc).

Combat in Liberation is the same as it is in AC3, they use the same updated system.

I'm enjoying RO. I still find MH to be the superior game by far, but RO is a good game in the same style. It's not RO's fault that MH is already a masterpiece and pretty hard to improve on.
I just finished Ch1. Looking forward to being able to change classes so I can try some others.
Haven't done any coop yet. If anyone wants some coop action, PSN: dachish
Does PS+ for Vita start tomorrow or whenever the hell the US PSN people get around to it? I'm fairly curious and I just got a free month again.
November's PS+ update is next week, though I'm not sure if they'll launch the Vita content at the same time. So far, they seem to have just said that it'll come in November and left it at that, so it could happen later in the month.
Anyway, I'm a couple of hours into AC Liberation and it's awesome.

Well this definitely isn't trying to even be MH, really. I'd say its definitely more trying to capitalize on something like the resurgence of interest in PSO style games.
Still, as said, its perfectly serviceable and will tide me over into that Soul Sacrifice game comes out. (Which definitely looks like a pointed attempt to duplicate MH with a grittier asthetic.)
I'd assume it will come with the update, but I'm also basing that on Japan's PS Plus. They've already announced next month's content, which includes Sumioni. Finally, it's the perfect price! (...zero monies)
I'm actually quite surprised the other Acquire game, Orgarhythm, is getting good reviews. Has anyone played it? Did I just not get it?
I'm jealous of you guys that have RO already. I was supposed to get it Tuesday, but I guess Amazon decided to delay everything so I don't get it until Friday (boo!). At least I have some Zero Escape I need to start playing in the meantime.
Damn.
I think I might grab a bigger memory stick before I go to work tonight. 4GB isn't nearly big enough.
Edit: Wow, I REALLY need a bigger memory stick.
Assassins Creed is 3GB.
Hey guys.
What'd I miss in the past eight months? And is Ragnarok Odyssey coming out here?
Welcome back. And yes, Ragnarok Odyssey should be coming out in Aus/NZ. Gungho (the Japanese publisher that owns Acquire, Gamearts and the Ragnarok series) just opened a US office and apparently they're publishing the PAL version. This leads me to believe it'll be PSN only but then seeing as NISA recently published the PAL version of Way of the Samurai 4 with retail copies, who knows.
Okay then. I'll hold out for a PAL release. Not a huge fan of having to swap out to a US account if I want to play US downloaded stuff..
Has anyone played Little King's Story? I know people loved the Wii game.
Yeah, a couple of us have been playing New Little King's Story. The framerate can be HORRIBLE at times, especially when you've got a large royal guard and you're in the middle of your city but otherwise, it's awesome.
The frame rate in AC Liberation is horrible, but that doesn't make it any less awesome. :P
Glad to hear it's good though. Might pick that up when I grab a bigger memory card..
I really hope these games having random frame issues is just people being new with the tech. I know it can't be that hard, people! Especially NLKS, that has no real excuse!
RO has a lot of free DLC though, which you wouldn't be able to use without a US account, which would require switching and be a huge pain (just for that).
I will say, I'm really enjoying Need For Speed. Runs well, and gives me that Burnout Paradise feeling. It's a little cramped on the screen, but works pretty well.
My Vita was lost/stolen this past weekend. I'm thinking of waiting for a bundle with Need For Speed or PS All-Stars. I know that they've been announced for "this year." Does anyone have a clue when these bundles might become available?

Man, my condolences. My vita was stolen earlier this year, and I just now replaced it with the ac3 bundle. Maybe they'll find out who stole it/find it if its just lost. Good luck dude.
CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.
I bought Most Wanted before the deadline last night, but I wasn't able to download it, thanks to leaving on vacation. I need to go find some free wi-fi and get it going. It's killing me having to wait.

Now, I hear there's going to be an Ultimate Pass for all the DLC at a discount? And that it actually WAS up for a bit but then didn't work at all and had to be pulled? Do we know if it's coming back?

Look at pretty much any new console (especially Sony consoles). It's very definitely a 'getting to grips with the tech' thing.
