How do you fucking think I felt. I got a free "victory". Had i won, it would have been "well, he got a free victory". I also didn't get to play an entire game. So I fucking sat around. The dakka thread got locked before I even got a chance to respond.
A tournament of that size should have fill in players on stand by. It still sucks as they aren't "real" games, but they should be playing the bottom player every round anyway. It's also better than letting him keep playing or giving byes.
Hell, even in the small 12 player tournaments I run I make sure tp bring an army in case I need to fill in.
I thought someone said that they'd already had to do that? Though presumably the organiser then just steps out unless it's a case of needing multiples of 4 or something.
Beakycon was dumb for another reason as well. They told everyone that rankings and prizes were done off of win/loss then changed it to battle points in the last round. Neither of the 2 people that were undefeated won. Good shit. Hope they lose their sponsors.

Speaking of cons of sorts, I don't recall if I mentioned it but GamesDay 2013 will be held in Memphis this year as opposed to Chicago. I believe I will be going and I hope they keep holding it in Memphis because it's a pretty rad town.
If you aspergers motherfuckers will all be there I'll bring the DW army (Assuming everyone manages to send me their man by MARCH) and just play 40k with PA bros all day.

hmm, Memphis is about 6 hours from here so not too bad a drive, though ~4.5 hours of that is through the wasteland that is rural Mississippi. I need to figure out when I will be working around then.

That's the thing, if you don't kill it in one go it has a decent chance of getting HP back. It takes a lot of fire power to do that. And if they are lucky with those inv saves it will soak up a lot of shots that would otherwise be killing the rest of the army.
Or it dies to a krak missile. I don't really think it's worth it.
Need to roll that 6 on the pen roll to kill it. Technically it has a better chance of passing it's 5+ inv than you do rolling a 6 on the damage chart with a Krak Missile.

I have one of the city asphalt ones and it's fantastic. Rolls up easily for storage, good detail, and rubberyness kept stuff from sliding around. It was sort of a pain to paint because it's so big. I ended up using a rubber paint roller to hit the texture with a 'basecoat', and then crawled around on the floor for a few days with a big drybrush.

That's my concern, now that every army has something with AP2 for anti-tank, regen with AV12 doesn't seem all that hot
5+ Inv is nice but you can't bank on it keeping you alive

They took what it had before, gave it an extra hit point, a 5+ inv, It will not die and increased it by 50pts.
I think it's worth it's points at 200, but I haven't played yet.
