Ok my wife and I's eleventh anniversary is coming up and I want to take her to the keys for a few days. What are some places to go and things to do? It's sad, I grew up in Florida but have never actually been down there. Thanks in advance!

If you're not quite sure what you're after then the keys might not be the best of ideas. The geographical area is huge, travel can be problematic, and there is such a giant variety of activities that you really have to be more specific. Ive been a few times, snorkeling, diving, and with others who were sport fishing. If you're after the resort life, that's a totally different situation. If you're after nightlife, same (I wouldn't know if much of one exists?). I realize you're doing that research NOW, but, say, Sandals Key Largo is 6 hours and a world away from snorkeling in the dry tortugas. Driving from Miami is a world away from flying into Key west and holing up there.

Camping, fishing, sailing on most of them, they are all really small so everything past that is on Key West. Hotels, nightlife, beaches, restaurants, all the touristy stuff is there. Gotta go to Sloppy Joes and the southernmost point, also have some key lime pie.. rent scooters or bikes and just cruise the island checking stuff out. Its a great time and very relaxing.

Watch out for bums and stray chickens and cats... lots of those.

as far as key west: Jimmy Buffett's recording studio is there, there is mallory square (I think?) where street performers tend to gather, which is pretty fun. There are beaches and watersports all over. Key West is very Jekyll and Hyde. if it's spring break, or fantasy fest (i think there are a few other events as well... bike week maybe?) it is a party town on par with the french quarter. When that stuff is not going on, it is a very sleepy beach town.
