A contender for the best NES game ever. Definitely the best NES music ever. Almost every single tune in this game is bleepy-bloopy gold.

Last and First Men is weird, because I can't tell if his characterization of England and France are based on their behaviour in the early twentieth century or if he's inventing things.

I can't wait until we get to year 200X. 2000-2009 were pretty meh, and the teens don't look all that promising either.

A few more minutes and I would have slapped together a Super Spike Volley Ball [chat].

You folks should count your lucky stars.

way back when there was pretty much only the primordial chat forum + G&T. the boards were often pretty terrible (it was so great a few years later when Everything Else was created and I could leave the chat forum forever). Anyway, some assholes saw a pic of Gabes wife and were insulting here appearance. Gabe nuked the forums from orbit for a while.

    I wrote a sci-fi comic years ago called "20XX"

I think I still have the script knocking around somewhere but it was basically Mega Man meets Deadwood meets cyberpunk

I should dig it out again sometime and try to turn it into something I could sell.

Some assholes mocked Mike's wife, and he wasn't all that pleased with it. So they shut the forums down since, well, they pay for them. Again, though, this was nearly a decade ago.

Good for him. Though I'm glad for the forums, it was nice to have a touchstone that was familiar while I was overseas.

Mega Man 2 was fucking amazing.

I also really liked Mega Man X, but 2 was simply the best and my enduring favorite.

In all seriousness these forums, especially [chat] helped me through when I was super sick. Especially some folks who aren't on all the time now or not in [chat] like @Preacher, @Passerbye and such. A few of you guys are still here anyway.

Ah, I see. No worries either way though, I wasn't offended or nothin'

On a completely unrelated note just blew one of my JTE's mind by saying "gonna" instead of "going to" like, she had to get out a pad and a pen to document this English occurring in the wild.

I stopped posting for two long stretches. And it's really only Everything Else / modern D&D that made the board as a whole worthwhile IMO. Oh and more recently Critical Failures. We have one of the (perhaps the) best board / RPG forums on the net now.

Unfortunatly the long stretch of hands-off by Gabe and Tycho, though understandable, let things really fester for a few years before Ramius was made Highmost Patriarch.

When I was a younger man Megaman X was quite emotionally affected, paralleled only by Secret of Mana

I never beat Mega Man 5

It actually made me cry in frustration. That's probably where everything went downhill.

I get painted a lot of times as a super Israel supporter but really am more nuanced than that. Just get annoyed with the rhetoric that gets thrown around on both sides.

No, it was someone who mainly posted in Israel threads when posting in D&D. Can't remember their name though.

    Edit: Yeah, it was Evander.

Oh yes, probably. Yeah, I don't think I was that strong a proponent even back in the day. And my view has certainly evolved with time, to the point where when I am having a bad day I wonder why we don't withdraw all support and leave them to their own devices.

For given values of unconditional it could be:

    Chu, Ketchem_ash or Evander
