HTML5 animations in Firefox: sound laggy, any suggestions?

So I'm running the latest version of Firefox, and I've had two instances where HTML5 encoded animations had really laggy music. Specifically, I noticed it on a couple of more recent MSPA "game" animations, and also in the game AirScape on newgrounds. Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can fix this?
Edit: cleaned up my add-ons, only running acrobat, java, flash, and shockwave player now.
