Game-related art and home decorations?

Hey guys, my mom passed away earlier this week, and it's been a pretty rough time for me. My wife and I own a house, but we've inherited my mother's, and since hers is much nicer and much, much larger, we're planning on moving in very soon. It's important to me that, when I walk into this house every day for the rest of my life, I don't feel as though I'm walking into my mom's house. You know what I'm saying? So we're having an auction come out to haul away the majority of her furniture, home decorations, etc, and we'll need to replace them with the kinds of things we enjoy.

I've always been a big fan of both video games and art, so I'm really interested in buying some game-related art prints, paintings, etc. But I'm really not sure where I should start looking. I figure, if I make a thread about it on PA, I can see what kinds of gamer-style home decorations other people have, and find out a bit more about the kinds of things I'm looking for.

Any suggestions?

I've checked those out, and I like a lot of them quite a bit. I wonder, though, is there a back-log of old merchandise available? I seem to remember that, a few years back at least, Gabe was showcasing some prints that he'd done that were all really cool. I remember one being themed around Team Fortress 2. It was fantastic, but I can't seem to find that anymore.

Some developers/publishers have their own stores where they sell posters/prints and more. For instance, Valve's store can be found here. Other than that, there's places like DeviantArt where you can find a lot of great prints, if you can manage to sift through all the...weird stuff.

As far as I know, the only stuff available is what's in the store.

Are you a Nintendo fan? Club Nintendo has released some pretty great posters the last few years that, if you're not a club member, you could probably pick up on eBay.

Hi ducks, really sorry to hear of your loss mate.. I have a great suggestion for you that I think will fit the bill very nicely. An artist friend of mine in Atlanta does some spectacular work http://www.spookytoons.com/. My wife has commissioned several paintings from Ted (Ted Murphy is his name) - I have 3 classic cartridges painted (NES TMNT, Genesis Batman & Genesis Spider-man), and three other paintings (Batman, Spider-man & TMNT) I'm sure you can see a pattern! He'll do just about anything you wish. He even hand made some Mr & Mrs. Pac Man wooden cutouts for our Wedding Cake. We found out about him at Dragon Con 2011 when we found two of his found art pieces (wooden ghosts, we now have 3). He's easily accessed via Facebook, tell him Kelli and Carlo from Cincy sent you his way!
