I'm not interested in reading a comic directly meant to advertise a product. I'm not going to bother giving your site traffic until Thornwatch is given it's own space separate from Penny Arcade. Knowing it's meant as a backdrop for a table top game removes the charm found in the similar "Look Outs" story. It makes it no different from a full page advertisement of Captain America defeating a villain with Hostess Fruit Pies.
I'm a fan of Penny Arcade and applauded your other ventures into gaming and alternative story lines to the standard comic. Those were either a purchasable items with your license, spin offs (Paint the Line) that result in there own merchandise, or works of art (Lookouts or Automata). I'm not against PA's future success, or attempts at making money off of every idea Jerry and Mike have. Thornwatch is being handled differently than their other properties.
Pitching a game concept you wish to capitalize on and having that take over the comic seems like crass commercialism. At least "On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness" felt like a comfortable extension of PA. Thornwatch isn't, and all I ask is that if PA want to make this game then give it it's own site, and not allow it to interrupt the humorous comic that everything else PA related is built upon. I know PA's time and resources are not unlimited. I also know the site has out grown the need for "The Merch" character, who would likely resemble a glutinous Demiurge of his former self. I doubt it would be very difficult for PA to appease the readers who share my opinion. Please consider this in the future.
