Question about FIFA Soccer (game)

If anybody has FIFA Soccer, I was curious if it is possible to set up two AI teams to play off against each other, and what possible parameters are there for such a play off. Any insight on this would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

I know in older versions, you could just not select a team and watch two AI teams go at it but I don't know if that's possible anymore. Maybe there's some sort of trick to watching games which were simulated by the AI?

I suppose my needs are somewhat unique... guess there's no way to know for sure except to buy a copy then!

My friend works on FIFA. He says he thinks it will work if you start a game but don't move your controller from the middle, and just start the game normally

Hmm... perhaps easier to explain what I seek to do.

I'm trying to simulate a game between two designated teams. I would like to choose the teams, specify the players, and watch what happens. It's not really important whether they play competently, although in my ideal world I would like to be able to also tweak the competency of each team.

Youtube seems to indicate people are able to record CPU v. CPU matches, but I cannot for the life of me find this function described in FIFA product pages. Maybe it's not a common thing people would pay attention to, since most would buy the game to play themselves!

Ya. So what you do is set the difficulty level in settings to Professional (or choose pro difficulty when game starts up). When you start a game, you get a screen where you move the controller left or right to pick which team you want to be. If you don't pick (ie leave the controller in the default middle position) and start the game as normal, the AI will control both teams and play with Pro logic. Easy

I see. From the sounds of it, I guess camera controls are out. Oh well, it would have to do I suppose.

There is a full replay function. At any point in the game, you can save clips and export them to FIFA online. Here's a link to one I posted from the demo

Not sure what exactly you are trying to achieve but if you want a selection of footage from your simulated games, it's just a question of pausing the game at whichever point you want, and replaying. Within that replay function you can move the camera around, follow the ball, follow a player, whatever you want. You can then export the final clip.

If you are on PC of course, you can use FRAPS or whichever capture tool to record your own replays.

EDIT - There are also demo versions of FIFA13 for PC, PS3 and XBOX 360 so you can download that for free and try it out. No need to drop $$ on the game

I just tried what you want on my demo of FIFA 13. It works.

    On xbox:

When you start the game, by default you are controlling the home team. You move the controller into the middle, and press A. You get a prompt that says "you have not selected a team do you want to continue". Click yes, then X and X to confirm both teams. The demo will load, and there is a skill game that you can play. Press start to skip it, and the game starts by itself. The AI controls both teams.

If at any time you want to make a replay, press Start, and use the Instant Replay function.
