I blame Planetside 2 and the balancing issues. When things settle a bit, and when they FIX THE GODDAMN GAME, people will come back.
PS2 chat was PACKED last night! MWO... not so much. Ive been playing a good bit, but thats usually just jumping in a couple matches here and there to grind some bills. I dont have a whole lot of good quality time to hop in vent to really play.
Now that I'm not playing MWO so much since there's rarely many people in the channel, I would definitely be trying out Planetside 2 instead of playing Skyrim all the time. Unfortunately SOE are utter shitlordes and won't let me play on a US server, so fuck 'em.
I stopped paying attention to MWO for a while. From the sound of things, maybe I'll maintain that policy for another few weeks.
I'm curious, though, how did the double heat sink thing end up shaking out? Are they all at 1.4 heat dissipation now? 2.0 in the engine, 1.4 elsewhere? Some other crazy scenario?

They should still be 2 in the engine and 1.4 elsewhere.

Yeah, this is how they work. Impossible to tell if they're balanced like this, though, since the current streak issues overwhelm all other imbalance issues. Hard to tell if a given laserboat is OP thanks to double heatsinks when a Streak Cat can core almost anything in 15-20 seconds, if that long, so finding out whether or not DHSes are in a good spot is going to take a while.

Lasers currently feel like they're in an optimum spot right now. All of the standard ones are useful and widespread yet not too gimmicky, while PPCs/ERPPCs don't have glaring problems like some other high end weapons have. None of them scream 'OP!' and even those builds that you see stacking a billion lasers (the 9 energy hardpoint Hunch) or stacking several high end ones usually come with the very obvious caveat that 'This guy's gonna have heat issues' as a drawback.
After some discussion within the dev team, we have decided to remove the ECM capability from the Jenner JR7-D. The first post will be edited to reflect this.
We would also like to remind people that the ECM is not all powerful. The rock to its scissors is the TAG laser. If you use it to hit anyone cloaked by an ECM, you and your team will be able to target them. Like any new addition to the game, this just requires a shift in thinking how to equip your Mech and/or team.

First cockpit rocking, then the realization that making Jenners (and arguably the most-used variant) even more powerful kind of defeats the purpose of trying to buff the Raven. I swear PGI is developing the capacity to learn or at least do something competent.

It was very disheartening to see that a quad core with an Intel HD 2500 could play at a slightly better framerate than my dual core and HD 4870.
...but that's what the HD 7770's for. PSU transplant tonight, muahaha.

It is still mighty entertaining stomping around and smashing faces.
Does anyone have a spare pcgamer code?

I'd make it, but I have a history of making threads for doomed games, and I really don't want to jinx it :P
Which one has the giant head? I forget between the two but one of them seems to have one huge torso for its size.
