Ahahaha, 4.9 frames per second. It's like somebody is rendering your game real-time with an Etch-a-sketch.
Makes those kills all the sweeter.
Also, Carbon, declined your invite, but I was only in for a couple of rounds to see if I could rebuild my YLW into more of what I wanted. Got it there, then had to bail. Definitely be on later, though.

I mean....
It....
....yeah, pretty much.
Still though (and I know I can complain a lot when I'm having a bad match), for all the problems I'm having, I'm enjoying the ever-loving shit out of this game.
The reaper build on the Atlas is insane. I've never piloted an Atlas except once when I first got i the beta, and it was a trial Atlas. Last night I built one and every match I averaged at least 400 in damage. The only downside for me is that it's sooo slooooow. I'm used to 83KPH Dragons or Hunchbacks. Going 58KPH feels like such a crawl.
I like it. Do you not have weight/space to roll over to just 3xLLas?
you can sacrifice 3 tons somewhere after dropping the 2 MLasers in the CT. Maybe a HS. Probably some armor. AMS if you really dont want it. Maybe a slower engine.
That's....still mathematically impossible. There's something weird there, because all of that can't fit on one 'mech.
You said there's 2 DHS in each side Torso. That's 6 crits, plus 3 from XL, plus 2 from LL. So one has AMS, the other has Endo.
Each arm has 2 crits for the arm, plus two for the SRM6. So that's 8/24 for the arms, minus 9 for 3 DHS, so that's 17/24, the rest are for ES (ES- 8/14)
The CT has two MLas, the head has an ES (9/14), and...that's it. All you're left with is your legs, and even if they were full of ES, you'd still be short 1 ES crit, and have no space left for ammo.
"Double Heat Sinks will be fixed between the 29th and November 6th. Details forthcoming."
Going OB while still having a bug like that seems pretty silly, but ah well. Having thought about it some more, if they implement DHS with the same exact function as TT, I can't see how they won't be overpowered.

Well, smaller 'mechs won't benefit as much from them, due to space constraints. They'll have to choose between that and structure/armor benefits.
Also, I mean...at what point hasn't this game been bugged? Might as well launch bugged, let the masses get used to it.

The thing about it though is a lot of new people will be doing the trial mech grind for a bit, so they won't have a mech let alone the 1.5 million right away so by the time they do, I bet the DHS fix will be in.

The thing is, my 6x MLAS Jenner absolutely benefits from DHS. Even with ES and FF, I still have room for 3x DHS. Means I can get two alpha strikes in a row even on caustic. And that's with them being broken.
TL;DR: A proper lobby with a Stock 'Mech only filter would do newbies a favor.
Its weird. Server keeps disconnecting, Vent skyrockets to 13k ping and crashes, pages fail to load at random, but I can watch streams just fine and don't get disconnected from Steam.

I just want to shoot mechy bits! Come on
I assume you're hardwired in? Plug into the modem itself instead of any router and see if that helps.
Did, nada, pretty sure its Comcast itself shitting a brick, or the modem. The consoles keep getting disconnected as well and the cable has been a stuttery slideshow all day.
Isn't the Reaper build less effective now? It seems the spread on SRM6s is pretty extreme. You need to be within 50 m to get it all in one spot. Sure feels like it didnt use to be spread out as much.
cant wait for collision to be reinstated.
havent had any problems shooting the lights, but since they figured it out, they've been giving zero fucks about turning away from heavies and assaults and just run through them to work on back armor.
Most people tend to get in close to Atlas' so they can exploit turning speed.
Yeah, people do this like crazy. Personally, if I see triple SRM6 on an Atlas, my immediate reaction is "hell no", followed by "run away!" Far, far better to try your luck with whatever lasers and ballistic weapon an Atlas might be carrying than that triple SRM combo.

Eh, it won't be that big of an issue methinks. The people coming in for the first time are gonna be busy just getting their foot in the door with the trial mech grind and getting out of the cheap light mechs. The only people that the DHS fix delay is really going to mess with are the founders, people who buy their way into the big boy's club, and insane people who spend all day obsessively grinding. Even then, Double Heat Sinks are functional enough that you can do some lulzy builds that weren't possible before. I like to think of it as a teaser for the main event.
I'm hoping PGI doesn't go all derpy on us and make the double heat sinks not function like they're supposed to though. Sure smaller mechs can still get away with some crazy shit like they are now, but the real reason to run them is precisely because they double your engine sinks for nothing. Take that away and they're just a marginal upgrade and you end up with the nasty side effect of nerfing the big guys. This is definitely one area where they need to just clone the TT performance and not tinker with it.
For anyone interested, @TOGSolid, @DietarySupplement and I are working on a mechlab clone (I guess you would call it this?). The goal for the first stage is to have something where you can build a mech, and share via the URL. Mostly so we're not all typing this shit in all the time here. Maybe also so you could put your favorite build in your sig.. Eventually, we'd like to integrate more information in so it can be more useful than the real mechlab now, and theoretically add some databases on the backend for saving mechs etc.
I know there are peeps out there who want to help, so we've been organizing a little bit to this end. Please PM me if you are one of these.

This is also what Dietary was teasing about in the other thread.
Epic duel between Dragon with one MLAS and a Cent with only 2 med pulse. Thanks to my Oosik comrades I was able to find out the max distance of the MPLS and stay just far enough to whittle him to death. TEAMWORK!

Well not to speak for her, but right now we have a working proof of concept. This was before the double heat / endo steel / ferrous, of course. Once I have an updated class to handle the mech objects, the next big push will be the visual redesign.
id help, but all my mad computerz skills are on the hardware side of the house.
and thank the sweet baby gord that heat sink fix is in the works. ill be able to swap my K2 between gauss and ac/20 at will! ... as long as the engine sinks are doubled.

I am setting up vent again right now
Cat C1
2 LLaser
2 MLaser
2 SRM6
XL300
DHS (19 total HS)
AMS
400 Armor
works pretty damn well
edit: fixed. no endo.

you can sacrifice 3 tons somewhere after dropping the 2 MLasers in the CT. Maybe a HS. Probably some armor. AMS if you really dont want it. Maybe a slower engine.
14 crits from weapons/EQ/ammo, 6 from XL, 14 from Endo, 21 crits from HS. You only have 51 free crits.
Are you missing ammo, maybe? Or do you just not have that many DHS in it?
2 in each side torso, 2 in engine + 10 default from engine and 3 in the arms
You said there's 2 DHS in each side Torso. That's 6 crits, plus 3 from XL, plus 2 from LL. So one has AMS, the other has Endo.

Didn't want to play tonight anyways.
50/25 connection and I've only had it die out 3 times in year.
It's going to be a real grind to get my reaper Atlas back after the wipe. I've got a Wang so that should help plus founders.

Pre-order cancelled.
