This is something I discovered recently and I explored/analysed through aleksander vinter's masks. Anything an artist creates is an aspect of himself or has an aspect of himself in it, even if he doesn't choose to. And in that expression he feels more relaxed and more complete. Similarly to the way dreams help our subconscious to vent its anxiety and process daily events, aliases and anonymity allows us to shed or show what we have shut off in our regular day-to-day lives.
I feel like Skull is Scott's alter-ego in some ways.
