I am not sure if it is the OS that this thing came with when I bought it about 7 months ago, but at first this laptop kept messing up very badly, and I couldn't run any windows program without it freezing to the point not even bringing the task manager to restarted worked, so I had to shut it down manually several times. it happened to the point that the hard drive was messed up and destroyed, so I sent it to the guys of that company to put in a new one and promised it was working better than before.
Well now every other time I turn it off and then back on the normal way it gives me this thing that it didn't shut down properly (which isn't true) and it keeps making this self repair thing which at times it doesn't bothering doing and just stays like that until I decide to turn it off and back on, finding out it starts with no problems at all.
It keeps doing this just by me turning it off and I don't want to send it again to wait several weeks until they decide to send it back "repaired" and then something like this happens anew until my warranty expires.
At times when I am at hot spots the laptop turns off by itself reaching below 20 % of battery power, so I am wondering if that also is contributing to the problem.
The laptop is a Compaq Presario CQ57 and it has some good RAM integrated for basic use, and I have anti virus programs that get rid of things if I visit a website that may be infected, so I am not sure what else to do at this point and would be happy if anyone knows about this, thanks.

What's probably happened is at some point the drive was flagged as 'dirty' which makes Windows run the scan on it at boot up, but for some reason the flag is not getting unset.
