Dvd burner problem

Got a weird issue with my dvd burner. Till about a month ago I would use it to burn Divx files to dvd+rw. Now, for some reason, it will burn them but then will recongnize them as dvd+r and not let me add or erase anything. When I put the blank rw in it recognises it as such but after it says it's a dvd+r.
So... help?
