Interim bed

So I need a bed. My last bed broke and I've been sleeping on this very thin foldable mat which is basically just on the floor.

It's not cutting it anymore.

The thing is, I would like a proper bed but there's a chance I will be moving writhin the next 4-6 months and I'd rather not throw money at a full-sized bed which will probably be a nuisance to move, if it's even possible.

So I'm looking for suggestions. This is what I want and don't want:

- Want: Something with a proper mattress that I can put a sheet on.
- Want: Something raised off the ground
- Don't want: An inflatable air mattress. I've had them and they puncture easily.
- Don't want: A mattress that is on the floor (like my current mat).

I was thinking about one of those foldable guest beds. Something to keep in mind: I'm 6'0" and about 260 lbs I guess (sigh) so it needs to support my height and weight.

Thoughts? I'm looking at the 100-150 range but a little higher would be okay. Obviously I don't want to spend an arm and a leg here. I like my arms and legs.

I know IKEA used to sell these amazing cots for pretty cheap. Dunno whether they still do or not. I mean, seriously, they were so comfy that even my mom, who has fibromyalgia, and for whom beds are a very touchy subject, liked sleeping on them. She was pissed when she found out my dad got rid of the one we had.

I've heard really good things about hammocks as beds. You can likely get one and a stand for 150 bucks. I've been thinking about switching to one myself, just because I've heard how comfortable they can be.

    That sounds Interesting.

I should have mentioned that I favor Amazon because I have a Prime membership but I'm not adverse to suggestions involving other vendors.

This is the one I was considering: http://www.amazon.com/Double-Deluxe-Hammock-Orange-Silver/dp/B004PPHB5S/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pdT1_S_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=19V1C4JCLU5FI&coliid=IM055IMGQ8FA0

The only thing stopping me from pulling the trigger is my concern over ever getting laid again. But if you are only looking for an interim bed, it would probably do the trick.

If you're agreeable to dropping 200 bucks on a hammock, just look at a proper bed - when you move, set aside a couple bucks for a cube van from uhaul, or a van. They're pretty cheap and I've done it a few times to move my crap. Given the bedbug thing that seems to be going around I'd get something new.

This is about as cheap as you're going to find for a "real" bed. Downside: Ikea, so it won't last as long as it might, and it's unfinished pine so it'll scuff / mark more than something with varnish / laminate on the outside. But for short-term use it should be fine. Ikea also sells pretty cheap foam mattresses, and those are a lot more movable than a box spring set would be.

If you have pets or are Pinhead an air mattress is obviously out, but I did want to mention that I had one that was pretty durable, ran around $100 from what I remember, and ended up lasting me about a year before it finally busted.

So I mean, I wouldn't rule them out completely if you can't find anything else in your price range.. just get a really good one.

And it seems like all is dying, and would leave the world to mourn
