How to fix? Uploaded .gif as avatar, won't animate.

I tried to search to see if this had been mentioned, but I only got threads that had nothing to do with the issue.

I'm fairly sure I've heard of this happening and there was a way to make it animate, but I'm buggered if I can remember.

    If I remember correctly, one of the criteria is the image can't get resized, and it'll get resized if it's larger the posting image size.

    So resize it yourself to be 80x80 pixels before you upload it.

    Ahhh yes, that's what happened last time too,

    Off to photobucket.

    Edit: And that was useless, you can't save .gif files as .gifs anymore. Idiots. I guess I'll have to stumble my way with a real editor. Thanks.
