Do you like words? Of course you do, they are everywhere and important.
Now normally when you yell out things like "
Wet Magical Rainbow Beaver!" people will either look at you funny or call the police. Well now you have a new outlet for your curious colloquy in a cool new contraption conceived from the cognitive cloth over at 5th Cell!
With Scribblenauts Unlimited (for the 3DS, WiiU, and PC/Steam) you can do more or less anything your imagination will allow you to, and as long as it isn't too perverted or foul.
Quick technical stuff:
WiiU: Out now. Includes a fleet of special Nintendo characters. Object Editor. Co-op.
3DS: Out now. Spotpass. No object editor.
PC/Steam:
Out Now.. Steam Workshop, Object editor.
Our story so far:
You start off by taking the role of this guy:
Maxwell
A quiet little child with headphones and a rooster hat on his head. Presumably Maxwell is a little slow and it has been said that it is unwise to touch his headphones. Perhaps. I may have just made that up.
And you are trying to save your sister:
Lily
You are 2 children out of a family of 42 children. Yes,
42 children. Here they all are:
Your mission in this game is to collect Starites,
which are magical stars that help cure your sister from the problem she faces. You're going to do this with your magic notebook:
- a device that when any word is written in it, that word will magically appear in the world Maxwell lives in.
Starite stuck in a tree? Summon a beaver. Or a chainsaw. Or a meteor storm to lay waste to all you see!
Starite behind a wall? Bulldozer works. Or perhaps arm yourself with a giant rocket launcher that shoots landmines that happen to look like clowns? The possibilities really are pretty far out there, and it takes no time at all to start conjuring up crazy things and wrecking havoc on the world of Scribblenauts.
NEW IN SCRIBBLENAUTS UNLIMITED:
Object Editor! (Not on the 3DS)
This is wild stuff guys. You take control of the object editor and can literally make anything you want. Give it properties and actions, program it to react special ways, the whole 9 yards. If you can think it - you can make it.
Want to make an Abraham Lincoln made out of bacon that shoots rainbows? Sure why not!
The objecit editor is fierce.
Check out some of these crazy things:
Mortal Kombat: (Spoiled for huge)
Scooby and the gang! (Spoiled for huge)
Hotdogatops
Burgersaurus
Here is a Giant Bomb quick-look since I suck at making OP's. Enjoy.

I was wondering why it didn't show up on my Steam shop.
When I'm at home tonight I'll see if I can organise with some American for gifting.

The stork did not know what it was supposed to deliver so I gave it a baby sea serpent.
A doctor needed medical equipment to heal a patient who was missing all his limbs so I handed him a tongue depressor, which surprisingly did the trick!
A fat dude was really hungry but the vending machine was empty. I spawned some edible delicious paste which he was really excited about.
A janitor needed something to clean up puddles but before I did that I made her robotic to increase efficiency.
An old lady was tired of standing so I made her an enormous golden throne. I imagine Maxwell doing it sarcastically. "Oh, you're tired of standing, are you?! Oh my, we can't have that."
Another lady wanted to buy perfume but couldn't afford it so I gave her a massive emerald.
A pizza delivery boy needed to deliver the pizza faster than on foot so I gave him an old slow moped which somehow suited him just fine.
Boyfriend needed his date to go well. First he wanted to look good, so I gave him the adjectives adorable and stylish. He turned into a supermodel. Then he needed a vehicle so I made him a stupendous blue striped convertible. Finally he needed something to give his date to start it off right and I handed him a valuable tiny stone banana. She was very psyched about it! I gave them a violinist as something romantic, then he immediately proposed which worked on the first date. Last, they wanted me to give them somebody who belongs at a wedding, so I summoned a groom which created a clone of the guy and somehow that resulted in a successful wedding!
I had to make a pizza for a gamer from three ingredients. I gave the chef dough, a green olive, and a tiny steak. Success! Then it asked me for a secret ingredient to add that special something to the pizza. I added POISON. And it accepted it! The gamer ate the pizza and he became fat as a result. He left before my crime could be discovered.
Next I had to create a phoenix from component parts. I decided that the phoenix gets its magical fire from its flaming liver, and the game did not disagree.
Basically the game is nuts and adjectives are awesome.
I need to get more creative, Sporky is making me all jealous.
I did however have an epic battle on my uncle's farm between a Zombified T-Rex and Vampiric Cthulu.

Why you doing this to me?
Gimme Scribblenauts. C'mon. Please?
fuck up once and you break your thumb / if you're happy at all then you're god damn dumb
that's right we're on a fucked up cruise / God is dead but at least we have booze
bad things happen, no one knows why / the sun burns out and everyone dies
Yeah. The items are in there. Make the sounds, make you big, etc. If you take damage when big you get small, makes the sound. Star is in there. Etc etc/
It's more open worldish? It's hard to explain. I don't remember if I played Super Scribblenauts so I'm not sure how it compares to that one but I played the DS and iPad game.
You basically have these larger levels where you can help out multiple "people" as you wander around for Starite shards. Which is a format I prefer to the tiny one-puzzle levels of previous games.
The first game was slammed because there were a lot of physics puzzles. Get this car to the top of the hill, but most things that can drag it are way too weak and the physics are janky anyway. Or find a way through this short maze. You can create anything but oh, this type of metal bar is just impassible to everything. Good luck.
In Super they realized that their world simulation is not that good, so they focused on solving puzzles via creation. Give the girl something to comfort her etc. That's a lot more fun because of how creative you can be, but it's also easier.
This game is much the same, though individual areas are pretty big with lots of minor challenges to complete. However there's a lot of really straightforward stuff in there. So-and-so wants food. This animal needs something nutritious to make it grow up strong. This girl up in space misses earth food. Quite a bit of repetition, so you have to liven things up yourself. Like giving everyone rotten moldy food that they eat anyway.
Very few physics-based things to do, and the ones that are present are easy.
But it's still really cool, all the things you can do, lots of extra fun side content that can be done at any time - create Don Quixote and then create a windmill, watch him attack it and get a starite piece. Plus the new object creation/scripting features.
I don't think so but the support for it is there.

This guy is no joke.
He creates magical floating candy canes, eats children, and spawns an army of undead snowmen.
Whatever you do... don't tickle him, the last thing you will hear is the crisp sound of a jingle bell followed by your annihilation.
The Workshop's coming out with some pretty cool stuff at times.
