I just added a second monitor to my setup, and I was wondering if there was any way of making it so when I alt-tab out of WoW it doesn't go down since I'd be able to use the other screen to browse intarweb and talked to people. I tried extending the desktop to it, and that doesn't work. I have an x300, and the thing is if I run it in windowed mode it just lags the game more and kinda defeats the purpose of a second monitor. Thanks in advance.

I too would like to know, however I am fairly sure this is impossible - I believe it has something to do with the way the games are rendered onto the screen (DirectX/OpenGL). I have had instances where the game is fullscreened on my primary but I still have control over say, MSN.
Yea, I did exactly what you described using the windowed mode, fit to screen/full screen option in wow. I was able to move the mouse onto the other monitor where I had aim, a browser etc. running w/o WoW minimizing. I'm not exactly sure how powerful the x300 is, but I didn't notice any performance loss w/ my vid card (6800gt) and a gig of ram.

That's what I feared, I only have 512 ram since my other stick went bad and can't send them both back at once since I won't be able to use my PC =\. That and running it in 1280*1024 would make it really slow. =\
