So my doctor has told me to use a fiber supplement every morning when I get up due to some issues I've been having. This is in addition to the fruit, veggies and whole grains I've been working into my diet. Problem is, the fiber supplements I've used are fucking gross. They taste like crap, even the orange flavored ones, and feel like I mixed some dirt in my water and drank it down.
Is there such a thing as a fiber supplement that doesn't taste like ass?

Also, fruit leather (fancy fruit rollups) generally are pretty high in fiber. Trader joe's sells an extra fiber version of them that isn't bad. Mostly tasteless, but fruity enough to be easily edible.

No, he didn't recommend a brand, he just said "you should use a fiber supplement to help this."
And Wassermelone: like I said, this is in addition to the fiber I'm eating in my diet (5 fruits per day, 3-4 whole grains, lots of veggies). Again, his orders.
The thought about talking to him about a pill is a good idea. If I can't find something that will work better I will do that.

I've never tasted one, but I can tell you a story about them: Last winter my family drove five hours to go to my cousin's wedding and my dad and I ended up skipping lunch because we had to take a detour to pick up my boyfriend. After changing our clothes at the hotel, the three of us get a ride to the church with my mom and sister, who give me a bag of mini-pretzels to eat. I offer to share with my dad and he says,
"Oh, your mom had a ziplock bag with some cookies, so I finished them at the hotel."
To which my mom says, "Those were my Metamucil cookies!"
And that's how my boyfriend met my family.

Barium isn't bad until the last 2 ounces on the 2nd pint.
Seriously though, thanks for the advice!

For example, I eat silver hills sprouted grain bread. Yes, it's expensive, but it doesn't have flour (only soaked grains), so it has 4-5g of fiber per slice. Make a sandwich with it, and you're halfway there for the day. Then you can get the rest through other veggies and grains you consume through the day. Any sprouted grain bread will be higher than your average crappy bread.
Unless you are amazing at taking pills and hated supplements, it's just a matter of time before falling off on taking such things. If you can make consistent diet habits, it can be a permanent change that you won't have to worry about again.

Also, I've seen people eating fiber branded granola bars, maybe try those?
