Bluray drive on PC not able to play Bluray discs

Relatively recently I acquired a Bluray drive for my PC. I installed it and it was working absolutely fine. A few months later my PC died, and when I replaced the computer I transplanted the Bluray drive from the old computer to the new one.

Unfortunately the drive now seems unable to play Bluray discs. I'm using Arc TotalMedia Extreme, and whenever a Bluray disc is inserted the message "Cannot play this media" appears.

Any suggestions? I'm thinking it may be driver related, but Windows 7 reports the drivers are up-to-date. It's not region-related either - nothing is playing.

I've just updated the drivers and the firmware, and it's not playing anything. I've tried different software for playback as well. no dice. Any suggestions?

I'm imagine that it's a pathway issue - not just the drivers, but all the hardware have to be certified for movies to play. It's a nightmare IMO.
Does Arc TotalMedia Extreme have some kind of HDCP path test? Most software of that type does... Also, is your monitor/TV the same?

Actually, thinking about it, my monitor is connected via HDMI. I wonder if it doesn't meet the requires standard for Bluray playback?

I'd try connecting via DVI and see how that works. What video card are you using? If you're using a DVI->HDMI converter cable I know that will make HDCP fail.
