I completely missed the PS1 era.
Like, my only experiences were an evening completely obsessed with the Bushido Blade demo, and playing most of the way through Front Mission 3 via my PS2.
Mind you, FM3 was amazing.
I tried to play MGS1, too, but I had this chronic inability to actually find a copy. Every time I found a copy for rent it seemed to have gone missing.
First time I played MGS1 was on some sort of demo disc that only had the Japanese version on a borrowed PS1.
For the longest time the only memories I had of it was the game over screen and people yelling "Snake? SNAKE!!!!" and Pizza Hut.

I want Dark Souls in everything. Dark Souls strategy game, Dark Souls turn based RPG, Dark Souls Soccer game, Dark Souls Dishonored, Dark Souls Just Cause, Dark Souls Portal, Dark Souls Castlevania. Put a little Dark Souls in everything.
Nothing strange or abnormal about my game tastes at all
I was big on PS1 but DDR was life, either in arcades or at home with the two U.S. mixes plus several Japanese imports on a hard plastic pad that cost me like $100
It's like Guitar Hero. Difficult at first, gets much easier. You just have to build the muscle memory is all
Fun fact: DDR is part of what led me into being a day one adopter of Guitar Hero 1.
Harmonix had me at hello because of Frequency and Harmonix, and I knew the build of the guitar would be good because RedOctane made really high-quality dance pads
the battle system in chrono cross was pretty cool. and it had a lot more references to the original game, but ultimately ditched a lot of them for some reason.
