I mean, I'll get in for free.
But no, fuck that, not going there on my one day off for over a week.

There's nothing I want to see left anyways. I've caught most of Skyfall and Hobbit while on the job, and I think we just got rid of Flight this weekend.

My brother gets in tonight and I got hells of cooking to do for tomorrow or I'd come hang out with ya.
Also I know you're in Chi but I had forgotten where.

honestly if it was just me and my brother I totally would! But this side of my family can be sort of... weird...

I got Dark Knight Rises from my brother and Homeland season 1/a tin of trick questions from my parents. And I'll get some form of book in the near future as they also accidentally got me something I already have.
I can see no better way to start my Christmas than with Damian Lewis.
Zombie Dice is a good cheap little game, we use it to decide who goes first sometimes.
Maybe Descent 2nd Edition, if you can find a sale of it like I did, it was 50 dollars and it was worth it, it's like heroquest kinda.

Dominion is good but it can get old with repeated play. I also recommend starting with one of the standalone expansions, rather than the base game, as they're more interesting strategically. Seven Wonders was really good the one time I played it, so I'll second that.
Smallworld can be fun if you like Risk style games. I'm not that fond of it, but it is essentially fantasy Risk.
Ticket to Ride is fairly solid, heading more towards a simple classic style game. Same thing with Nuns on the Run.
You have any further criteria you lookin' for with this?
I heard good things about Smallworld and Ticket to Ride.
Can you tell me more about those Straightzi?
EDIT: I can also recommend Doom the Boardgame if they still print it it's pretty fun/funny. One time a firend killed an arch vile with a punch, we narrated that game and I said he had punched it in the crotch so hard it's head popped like scanners.
Mainly I'm looking for... Exploration-based games, mainly based on cooperation, I guess? I have Descent (1st editon) but the rules for that are so godawfully complex that we never actually played it. Has the 2nd edition at least been simplified?
I might just end up getting the Pandemic expansion and the two Flashpoint expansions.

From what I gather the rules to 2nd edition descent are vastly simpler.
It's really pretty quick to setup and play and each adventure is divided into two sections and it's nice for an evening of gameplay here and there.
If you like exploration I'd say maybe carcassonne but that's also kinda competitive...

I understand the comparison, but comparing Smallworld to Risk is almost a disservice. A lot of the major reasons people don't like risk like length of play and randomness are not present for example.
Also yeah, Smallworld is less Risk-like than Quetzi implies. The comparison's certainly there, but it does have some significant differences (like going into decline, and each race having different abilities, etc).
My buddy and I decided to do something together for our other halves. We have a present wrapped for both of them - it's a big wooden chest (looks like a treasure chest) full of sand, pirate treasure, little plastic sea creatures, etc. Toward the bottom is the picture of the cruise ship we are going on in April. They are both getting little shovels wrapped up (which they will open first... awkward present ho!) to dig with.

I've used part of it to buy stuff for Rachel. Dunno what I'm gonna do with the other part.
I'd probably jump on Talisman if it wasn't $80 on Amazon. Booo, people who mark up game prices. Booo.
Hmm...
Quarriors if you like dice and deck building.
