Bulk Photo Management

I've got a few hundred photos that I need to sort and organize. This is mostly stuff from cell phones, a decent amount of it is just photos of whiteboards taken during brainstorming meetings. My first order of business is to scale all of them down, they're all pretty high resolution and don't need to be, so I'd like to get them down in size. Is there a piece of software that will reduce their size in bulk? If there's such a software that also has a few organization tools, that'd be great.

What is this I don't even.

Photoshop has a batch feature that you can program to perform certain actions, such as resolution reduction. You could download the demo and run the batch feature.

Be careful with decreasing the resolution when you have hand written text and graphs; It might render them unreadable.

Irfanview can do batch resizing. It's free, and a great image viewer to boot.
