I am a long time reader, but I have never felt the urge to post until now. I am so happy that this game will ship in a native Linux version that I could do a little dance right now.
I wouldn't jump to conclusions on hardware requirements--check out some of the games created with the Torque engine and you'll see it's pretty lo-fi. I'm sure the game will run perfectly well on any recent Mac computer.
You can run half-life 2 on a macbook (not pro), so it should be able to handle the torque engine. That's a nice thing about an opengl renderer its less restrictive then a direct3d renderer, which would require you to have a card that is directx 9 compatible.
