Most teenagers get to grow up without encountering
anything scarier than gang violence, drug overdoses and
chlamydia. They think thas the worst that the world has
to offer them, and they have the luxury of laughing.
You don't have the luxury of laughing. You know the world
has hideous, horrible things hiding in the shadows. You know
because you’re one of them. There's wickedness that
dwells within your chest, darkness that courses
through your veins.
Most teenagers will never know that things like you exist,
the secret monsterhearts.

Monsterhearts is a story game about what it means to grow up, to change, to become something more. It's a game about emotional outbursts, petty rivalries, and stupid, stupid teenage drama. It's also a game about dark hungers, about controlling your darkest self and dealing with the fact that you're always going to hurt somebody.
It's a game set in the milieu of popular teen supernatural horror romance stories like True Blood, The Vampire Diaries, Buffy, Angel, and yes, barf, Twilight (there won't be any sparkling vampires). Characters are mean, selfish and beautiful, hellbent on destroying their lives and maybe even taking the world with them.
Sounds fun, doesn't it?
WHAT YOU NEED AND WHAT I WANT
I'd love to take three to four players on a spin through a season of Monsterhearts. If you'd like to get in on this action you can find the game in PDF for 10$ over
HERE. If you want to play just say so and we'll get to it when I have some people who are interested. Don't worry about coming up with character ideas or anything just yet, we'll settle all that later.
All you need to do is sign up in
bloody crimson. If you have any questions, by all means ask! I know I painted the game as doom and melodramatic gloom, and it is, but we're going to have fun with it too.
Thanks to
@jdarksun for compiling all of our character stuff into one post found
HERE.

Will check out the pdf tomorrow.
I'm interested! But what, exactly, do we play in this? What do we do man? What do we do?
And you have my Angst!
I got a taste of this two moons ago and now I want to feed.
you breaka my hearts
also I like our applicants so far so I'll take you guys.
@Solar
@Rainfall
@jdarksun
@destroyah87
here we go.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
you, my friends, need to look through the list of skins and pick one. since we have four players we have plenty of skins to go around so once one is taken it's taken.
making the character you want is easy after that so go ahead and make a person, stopping at Backstory/Strings.
We'll do that last. together.
Where's our season going to be set, anyway?
Arc, what's your opinion on The Angel and The Serpentine?
I'm fond of the idyllic mountain college-type town, with lots of wilderness, misty mornings, dark nights, and predators and prey both human and animal walking in the night.
Alternatively, a big city, an urban jungle, with crowds of people where you can feel completely alone.
I like the idea of the forested/mountainy college town, too.

Also, rules question because it's not clearly explained.
For Advancement, if you roll with a 'highlighted stat' you mark experience, up to once per scene. Can we pick any two stats to highlight, or are those the stats that our Skin gets at 1?
but I have to say the Angel seems really quite interesting so far
also forested/mounty college town is cool, like a cross between Anita Blake and Gilmore Girls, haha
If you have room, I would love to Sign up in Bloody Crimson.
Yessss be the Angel it will work so well!
i love the vampire diaries...
but yeah it's going to be melodramatic as hell. and yeah I'd love the interplay between an Infernal and an Angel!
I am settling on an Icelandic character. Kinda go with a Viking-inspired vibe, lots of tattoos, bad-boy attitude, drives a Harley, rich parents, etc. Maybe a Bane/Dwalin inspired character after watching The Dark Knight Rises and The Hobbit? I am thinking maybe The Chosen or The Werewolf.
Thoughts?
I have a rough concept but I want to float it past you first to make sure it will gel with what you got in mind. I want to play a guy slightly older, about twenty-two. Sophomore in the college, he plays on the college football team as a defensive tackle and teaches part-time at the local high school (PE, or something). A werewolf, he is a cunning predatory type that helps out with his uncle's bail bonding agency. Kind of real obsessed hunter type but more refined than a stereotypical werewolf. Bit of anger problem. Think Bane or Branson from their movies. I am thinking his family is pretty rich and respected; his father a professor at the college and his mother a brilliant architect. His look is lots of tattoos, an impossibly long braided beard, real Viking look, and a Young Dwalin inspired mohawk. I kinda want to go less primal and more unrelenting cunning and determination until he gets pissed.
Werewolf, with Heightened Senses and either Primal Dominance or Uncontainable. Kinda wanna go with a Moon angle. Maybe he is convinced the Moon Goddess gave him these powers or something?
Also I'm trying to involve as many skins as possible and jdarksun tagged the werewolf! Is there another skin you might be interested in?
For the high school, I was thinking he would work there while going to college. Might be kinda interesting to see what people think about his relationship with all these kids a couple of years younger than him.
Possibly Vampire.
The Queen skin could be fun too.
Probably the Ghoul though, I'll think about this some later but right now I have to leave for work.
I'm not sure how well a 22 year old will fit into the game, especially if you're in a position of authority over the other characters. There's some interesting themes there, but playing an inherently more mature character that's going to be excluded from a lot of social interactions(and will come across as super creepy in certain other contexts) might not work too well in this game.
Steam
Good point!
I mean, I pictured this guy as doing one of two jobs in a school: Janitor or Gym assistant. Not sure which would be more creepy.
As for me, leaning heavily to Ghoul. But I might still be struck by a better idea.
