Standard Action
Grab, Routine check: 10 + 6 = 16 vs Parry:10 + 4 = 14 (HIT)
Relevant Advantages
Improved Hold [-5 to checks to escape grab]
Improved Grab (From Extra Limbs) [Not vulnerable while grabbing - only require one hand to maintain a grab]
Minion gets a resistance check against Strength 12? Or is it 9 because of the PL limit? Grab checks aren't really too clear.
I have some images coming up soon. Sorry for the delay all, I have been extremely sick over the weekend. @Captain Carrot, you are up! As soon as the rest of you engage in combat, you will all fall into the battle order.

Smile HappyBots (8 on first floor): Dodge 4, Parry 4, Fort -, Toughness 6, Will -.
Nah, that's basic routine stuff and you automatically succeed. Anything more "cinematic" requires checks.
To better explain the layout, the group is on a large staircase that goes up to an open second level. The second level extends from the open foyer to the balcony around the garden center. It's a large, open stately design.
Since he knew where to expect the smilers to appear, I'll head there and prepare to strike anyone with a big smiley mask on and save the beautiful mafia daughter. There may be some seduction involved. With the girl, not the smilers.
And wow, Raven is really critical of Champion. Why are you talking about property values, why didn't you get the mafia kingpin to surrender, she is never happy! :P
I say roll with it. No reason we have to be a hippy love fest. Conflict between characters is fun!
It makes sense that they'd be at odds. Raven has zero interest in the publicity and endorsements, while the Champion lives for that stuff. Raven is used to obstensibly flying solo while the Champion expects team players. I don't think I want to take it too far, but it would be fun to explore their different ideologies.
Also, I made some new drawings... I also did some for Graviton and Champion. They're just in simple street clothes. If you have no interest in seeming them, I won't post them.
If anyone else wants some work done I'm need some more detail to go on. I have a hard time picturing Glenn, CJ and Ticket in my head. Not enough detail on their appearance to run with.
And yeah, roll with the conflict. Honestly, a little needling is likely what champion needs to be put in his place. He already thinks he's the leader of the group, feel free to take him down a peg.
And besides, it's clear Raven is just being critical to mask her true feelings. Chicks dig a Champion.
EDIT: @Mikey CTS great idea, didn't see you had "effect other" in your concealment. Looks like the girl will magically dissapear from the middle of a group of smilers, then Cap and I can wreck 'em.
@Talonrazor Do you want to pull the trigger on me whisking the hostage away under invisibility? Figure that will be our first round/surprise round of combat.
You are all exposed to a special smoke grenade! This is an array power that has Suffocation 2, Concealment Attack Area 3 and Affliction 3 (fatigue, exhausted or incapacitated; causes nausea or vomiting) Make Fortitude Saves against the effects. The cloud is twenty feet by twenty feet and covers everyone currently.
New Order of Battle
It's a new round! Everyone is in combat and everyone will be going in blocks. So enemies go in blocks as well as allies. That means Miller, Ticket, The Raven, Captain Science or The Champion can all go next.

@Talonrazor Do you want to pull the trigger on me whisking the hostage away under invisibility? Figure that will be our first round/surprise round of combat.
It is a first round of surprise combat.... but the Smile guys get the first surprise. However, The Raven is still invisible, so if you act you will get a 'bonus action' of surprise.
I'll go ahead and get my action up, which will be whisking this teenager to safety.
Edit: I'm pretty sure it's going to take me longer than one turn to get her to safety even with my bonus action from invisibility. Let me know how you want to handle it.
Uh-oh! Missed DC 13 affliction by four, I am fatigued! Oh, it only lowers speed rank. whew!
@Talonrazor : I have the assessment advantage, but since we are given the defenses of the villains up front, it is useless as is. Could you make a ruling: adjust the power (maybe it reveals an opponent has immunities or invulnerability, or regen) or let me retrain it (think I'll put it in treatment or use it to get a minion:expert in PR).
EDIT: Oh, we act as a block. Well, Champion finally gets to use his fists:
punch Mohawk: 1d20+1225 HIT, even with -2 for conceleament.
Seven attacks hit. There are a numerous degrees of success giving a maximum of +5 bonus to the damage of the Assault Rifle, a DC already of 5. That's a total damage DC of 30 for Ticket.
Toughness Check vs. Lasers: 2#1da20+91228
One hit, one shrugged off. 16 - 12 = 4, so one degree of failure. Crimson Justice has a –1 circumstance penalty to further resistance checks against damage.

I suppose the bots aren't minions, then?

Post incoming guys, and new round of combat. Things are heating up!
I have got to get a bit of sleep and will slap up a post after that.
It makes sense that they'd be at odds. Raven has zero interest in the publicity and endorsements, while the Champion lives for that stuff. I'll get the finalized artwork for Raven up ASAP.

Glenn Miller: Hit by Energy Wave! Energy Wave Attack (1d20+8=20)
Damage DC is 27! (+12 Damage) Roll Toughness.
The Champion, The Raven, Captain Science

Yes! You establish a telepathic link.
To resist Suffocation (1d20+6=17)
Whoo! Passed the first. I am unaffected by the Suffocation.
To resist Affliction (fatigued, exhausted, incapacitated) (1d20+6=17)
And passed the second one.
I'll go ahead and get my action up, which will be whisking this teenager to safety.
Edit: I'm pretty sure it's going to take me longer than one turn to get her to safety even with my bonus action from invisibility. Let me know how you want to handle it.
First, we get a dodge to reduce the effect to half:
Orokos is being a butt for this roll, but it wouldn't affect my other two saves at all so oh well
Suffication fort save: 1d20+8 23
Boom, made it!
Afflication fort save: 1d20+8 9
Well, Champion finally gets to use his fists:
punch Mohawk: 1d20+12 25 HIT, even with -2 for conceleament.
Now Mohawk gets to make two saves:
Toughness: 1d20+7 24 Fuck you mohawk!
Fort: 1d20+9 16 Fuck you in the ass mohawk!
Toughness DC: 1d20+12 23
So first, Dodge save vs. area effect: 1d20+10: 13
Pass, so is it just the concealment at half effect or each of the powers in the array?
Fort save vs. suffocation: 1d20+7: 16
Pass, not affected by suffocation
Fort. save vs. affliction: 1d20+7: 22
Another pass! Radical.
Now for action. Captain Science is going to teleport in behind the bald dude and hit him with his Weaken power.
attack bald guy: 1d20+10: -1 concealment 17 HIT
Bald guy fortitude 8 vs. weaken DC 17 Bad guy fails
He loses....0 toughness? Or 9 toughness?

Standard Action
Smash the nearest Smiler Bot. Routine check 10 + 6 = 16 vs. Parry 4 (14), HIT
Check 6 vs 15 + Damage 12 = 27, Result: 12 FAIL
Free Action
Maintain Grab on Smiler minion. He gets to make acrobatics or check vs. Strength 12 (10 +12 = 22) to try and escape the grapple.
Yea you are right. Just the Captain, then.
3 bots strike Ticket, 3 bots strike Crimson Justice!
23, 25, 19 vs Ticket Doge DC of 12.
All hit, damage with laser beams! Damage DC of 21!
21, 22 vs Crimson Justice Dodge DC of 16.
Both hit, damage with laser beams! Damage DC of 21!
12 vs Crimson Justice Parry DC! Miss!
Minion struggles to break free but fails against Ticket's grab.
Other 9 Smile Syndicate henchmen combine attacks 1d20+2=11, 1d20+2=19, 1d20+2=20, 1d20+2=17, 1d20+2=5, 1d20+2=14, 1d20+2=22, 1d20+2=19, 1d20+2=19
Seven attacks hit. There are a numerous degrees of success giving a maximum of +5 bonus to the damage of the Assault Rifle, a DC already of 5. That's a total damage DC of 30 for Ticket.
Ticket can ignore the lasers (6 damage), thankfully. The combined attack...Not so much.
Resistance Check
1d20 + 12: 6 + 12 = 18
So that's 3 degrees of failure. He is staggered and has a -1 to subsequent Toughness checks.
Edit: Interpreted degrees of failure wrong!
One hit, one shrugged off. 16 - 12 = 4, so one degree of failure. Crimson Justice has a –1 circumstance penalty to further resistance checks against damage.
