Fixed.
Also, god I want a t-rex in blops.
"Hardly ideal" is probably the PA-ism I use most in real life.

that being said I'd love to play a game that actually was as this comic depicts
kind of like you are the protagonist in a shooter but the AI is playing something like scribblenauts: "I dunno, make a dinosaur and see if that kills them."
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
They're playing multiplayer. When you do well in multiplayer you unlock "Score streaks" that help you out. The easiest to get is a UAV. This comic shows a rapid downward spiral as the other team is kicking the crap out of the guys.
I played the hell out of COD4 multiplayer, but even back then I thought the whole killstreak concept was damned stupid for many reasons (bolstering the team that's already winning, encouraging KDR-above-all mentalities, discouraging people from grabbing objectives in team games, etc.). A couple iterations of the series later, I looked up some multiplayer videos out of curiosity to see how they fixed things up, and I had no idea what the hell was going on anymore. It was like this dual-shotgun wielding dude was killing other dudes everywhere and he's opening a briefcase and has a first-person view of a missile or some shit falling from the sky and kills a bunch more dues and now he's in a helicopter massacring dudes with literal wallhax and now there's klaxons blaring everywhere and the everyone's screaming and there's a humungous flash on the screen and woah what the hell he instantly won.
Kind of convinced me I was really done with the series.
Steam
:P
You're right.
EDIT: Not to turn this into a CoD thread (we have a very capable one in G&T), but the scorestreaks in Black Ops 2 are much better than the killstreaks in previous iterations. You get to your streak rewards by scoring points rather than kills. If you sit and camp, you'll build up score slower than someone who is capping points or minesweeping (destroying mines and other static traps nets 50 points) or killing aggressively (double kills, revenge kills, avenger kills, and savior kills are all worth more), and it encourages going for objectives rather than conservative selfish play focused on KDR. It's a nice change.
And The Last Starfighter is the best movie ever made.
*immediately after he says it, an alarm rings*
Alex Rogan: What's that?
Grig: The Frontier.
