Tales of the Unexpected is pretty fucked up

You have a book thats about 2/3 rds Spectre getting his ghostly vengeance on. And what a very violent vengeance it is. But also you see the victims of the people who will be punished and we have them as horrible things are done to them while Crispus Allen can just stand there, because no crime as been committed yet.
Especially in the last issue with the
Clown Child murderer
I seriously had to just sit down and breath for a while after that. It was just ...it was a little much for me.
And then on top of that you have these horribly fucked up stories and then you transition to the wonderful weird tales of Dr. 13. It's incredibly jarring.
I honestly have no idea how I feel about this mini.
After looking over a few scanned pages someone put up on a blog, I gotta agree that the Dr 13 stuff looks to be pretty good, especially with the 'special guest-stars' in the pages I saw. I wanted to submit that in fact as a Moment Of The Week but I can't seeing last week's thread is locked.
I couldn't care about it. I enjoyed the 3 issue mini, but Tales doesn't do anything for me. Dr. 13 was fun and all but it couldn't justify me spending the extra money, plus the art was hard for me to like.
I'm hoping the Dr. 13 stuff is collected in a trade seperately from the Spectre stuff. Because, while I love the Doc, the current Spectre is just really uninteresting to me, even as a reader of Gotham Central.

I like it a lot. It's no Ostrander / Mandrake Spectre, but obviously, they had a series, not just a mini series to work with.
