So yesterday I didn't have this game, now I have the starter pack and it's characters, Nova, Hulk and Venom. I'm hoping the toy box mode is gonna be fun to run around in. Also, I'm on the PS4 and would like to check out some cool creations, so add me! Cardboardnine is my PSN.

Before yesterday I had Hulk, Groot and Baymax (just really like the look of the figures). Now I also have the base set figures, plus Aladdin, Stitch, Merida and Anna.

Now that I've seen how DI plays, and how it's collectables add to the game, I'm truly terrified about 3.0. I can easily see myself buying power disks just to get different lightsabers or an A-wing or something and blowing a whole bunch of money. I also hope they release some troops, like a storm trooper figure, and not just have them as cannon fodder for the game.

I spent a good few hours kicking around in the toy box intro and ran into a whole lot of bugs, I had to reset my progress which was pretty irritating. It's definitely my favorite part of the game so far though.

I have a real love/hate relationship with those power discs. I hate the blind bagged concept but I can't stop buying them when there is a decent sale. Luckily I've stopped trying for full sets since most of the toys are functionally identical to some of the standard toys plus you can't save them in your toybox.

The textures and round discs are a different story. I need all of them.

I had about 20 bucks worth of discs in my hand yesterday due to the sales going on before I convinced myself to stop buying them. I have a good collection of doubles I would be willing to post later tonight if anyone wants to do some trading.

You still need the playset pieces. The Wii U digital version was offered as a way to entice DI Wii users to upgrade since 2.0 didn't come out for Wii.

You'll need the little playset tokens to play in each playset:



The token that's included with the Starter Pack covers Pirates, Monsters, and Incredibles, with Toy Story, Cars, and Lone Ranger each being sold separately.

If you want to play the 1.0 playsets the easiest route to take is to find a cheap 3DS Starter Set for 1.0 and throw away everything but the figures and the token. Toy Story, Lone Ranger, and Cars can all still be purchased separately.

I've only ever bought one bag of power disks so far and I ended up with the infinity gauntlet (which I think is rare?) and what looks like Odin's steed, which is cool because even though I thought I'd be running around as hulk mostly, I can't stop playing as Thor.

I should have two discs coming in via trade tomorrow, but after that I'm about 5 short from a full set for 2.0. I'll post what I need here to see if anyone has what I'm looking for to trade/sell, and once I get a full set I'll probably give away the remaining discs to you guys (if you don't mind paying shipping)

Also Walmart.com has the Spidey play set for $14.99, and it appears to be in stock for either shipping or pick up.

They are pallet swaps of the Thor and Guardian's Escape from Kylin. If you haven't played them, one is a tower defense and the other is a top down gauntlet-esque game where you have a little side kick that you unlock equipment for as you go. They also unlock more decorations, etc to the Toy Box for you to use.

I'll get my extra discs up this weekend. Sorry I didn't get them posted yet.

1) Yes, as long as it's within the same family of platforms. There's three console bases in existence: One works on the Wii, Wii U, PS3, and PS4, and there's then there's one that ONLY works on the Xbox 360 and another one that ONLY works on the Xbox One.

So as long as you're going back to the same platform for 1.0 or within the Wii or Playstation family you're fine.

2) Yep, you're all good there. I go back and forth between 1.0 and 2.0 on my Wii U with no issues.

So I just got this game last week and have really been enjoying it with the kids. Got some power discs for fun and I've been using the Pieces o' Eight and User Control to get more blue sparks and XP. The trouble is, it seems like fairly frequently my character and the discs get disconnected from the base and redetected. When I'm playing in a Toy Box like Hero's Duty this is happening constantly and it's really distracting.

Is there a problem with my base or is this normal?

Try moving the base further from other electronics. I've read of that causing issues.

I've read the same. I've moved it as far from anything as the cord will allow me, but it still acts this way. And never when I just have the figure on there. When I start stacking it gets dicey.

When the disks "charge" do they reset or something? In that toy box I mentioned I'm fighting A LOT of enemies. Maybe I'm charging them so quickly and so often they're resetting all the time and doing the animations?

Are you sure the discs are being redetected? Are the names showing up again? I thinks those disc give you a "chance" to to earn more money and XP. They don't happen with every kill. When they do trigger your character will kind of flash and there will be some sound effects.

If you've built an xp generator to just spawn/kill enemies for easy leveling it might just be better to use discs to expand your pickup radius. I've found the "earn extra X" disc don't trigger nearly enough to be useful.

Sorry for the late reply, I think you nailed it. I'm playing heavy combat toy boxes and it must be procing and giving me the bonus and that's what makes me think it's redetecting the character. It does seem to happen less often when I'm playing less combat heavy toy boxes or playsets. Thanks!

There are a few. 1.0 had the Toys R Us exclusive Merlin disc. 2.0 has the Falcon costume and Spider Man costume, both of which are supposed to increase the pick up radius for any character. You can also combine 2 1.0 discs to get a third power. The C.H.R.O.M.E Armor Shield + Tron User Control Panel and Bolt’s Super Strength + Violet’s Force Field both generate a third power that expands the pickup radius.

Completely agree. I was playing it a few nights ago and while it runs ok in the actual playsets for me (I had a blast in the Avengers one) the toy box is really where the performance tanks.
