The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Thanks to the folks who recommended picking up the new issue of Green Arrow.
Getting some serious Immortal Iron Fist vibes from the first issue, which I'm hoping keeps up.
I am also now once again tempted to pick up the old Neal Adams Green Lantern/Green Arrow comics to groove on that '70s art and to see if they're still the most didactic comics not written by Jack Chick or Steve Ditko.
This could be good news, last night someone tweeted Jeff Parker, asking if he would possibly be working on something bigger with DC. He tweeted "maybe", but now it looks like he deleted it. I hope I just didn't skim over it, fingers crossed.
Okay, I've just looked through a few forums and news sights, and I've actually had to get a pen and paper to keep track of all these new writers, books, and cancellations. Alright:

Should've rounded up that posse to buy those books
The third "wave" was sort of a non-starter for me, and I fell behind on most of my DC books when I was working 70 hours a week, so I sort of lost track of the whole universe. But the thing was, I didn't even have the interest to catch up anymore. Now with Justin Jordan on Superboy, I'm interested to catch up and see what he does.
Also, I'm sort of glad that I, Vampire seems like it will be ending appropriately with an actual clean cut-off and isn't just being cancelled randomly.
At the same time, I'm worried that even though DC is pulling in decent creators and actually seems to be making some smart re-assignments, they all seemed geared toward making the books darker. JJ on Superboy, the new writer for Supergirl, and Tynion on Red Hood all have me a little nervous.
Also, great to finally see Franco & Baltazar on an in-universe title.
What I just don't get is their obsession with the number 52. Like why do they feel they absolutely have to have 52 titles on the go? There's no real solid plan in that beyond it being kinda novel. I think it might be constraining how they run stuff. Why can something for something new? Why habitually top up the 52 with super iffy titles?
I read somewhere that the DC offices are located on the 52nd floor of their building, and somehow this has fueled Didio's obsession with making 52 a signature number for DC.
So Powergirl and the Stormwatch are returning to their original looks?
I get the feeling what happened with Wonder Woman just before the New 52 was sort of a microcosm of what is happening right now
Did they say for sure PG's sticking to her old costume or do you think it's more of a fan-nod in the lines of something happening to her DCnU costume so she had to pull something on from the back of her closet to wear while the new one's getting fixed? And what's this about Stormwatch also switching suits? Do you mean Midnighter and Apollo?

It seems I was one of the few people here buying them
so you have this art style that the reader has become accustomed to. you pick up a book, open it up, and say 'this is swamp thing'. it's got a unique look that defines it. then, for the finale of this big arc that crosses over with other books someone decides 'lets scrap that'. the art, on it's own merits, is not great; but, it's not horrible. it just totally does not fit. everything's got thick, fat black, cartoon lines. it's just goes against the chaotic style/tone of all the issues leading up to it.

Is there any statement about PG actually donning the blue and red or is it just a cover of her in one so people naturally speculate she's going to take it up.

Supergirl is dead—Long live Supergirl! Or so it seems as the strange connection between the Karas has Power Girl becoming Supergirl again.
I've been catching up on some of the books I fell behind on last year. Today I read The Others storyline from Aquaman.
I liked it a lot. It's probably the best ongoing that Johns is writing right now. GL feels like he sort of ran out of steam, and the Graves and Cheetah arcs of Justice League were awful.
I'm excited to catch up on all the Throne of Atlantis issues tomorrow or later this week.
Don't really care for the new villain in Green Arrow being another archer, but I like the artwork and I'm definitely intrigued enough to get subsequent issues.
From what I remember of Johns interviews around the start of the new 52, he said he had two years of Green Lantern stories left, pointing to arcs about Sinestro as Green Lantern, the Indigo Tribe, and the First Lantern. Since we've accomplished all of that and have been getting into the First Lantern stuff, I've been wondering what would happen next. I'm not surprised he's moving on and I'm glad. Green Lantern needs a new voice and the franchise needs a new direction.

she punched people and left a W mark with her sharpened knuckdusters

That said The Green Team kind of sounds cool
It was bad.

Guess PG isn't sticking with the old costume after all.
EDIT:
Pretty nice design for a Beyond Flash.

You weren't the only one.
// Switch: SW-5306-0651-6424 //
I'm getting Super Stoked for JLA. Which is weird because I feel like Justice League has gotten pretty stagnant.

I know. I'm just saying Power Girl is going through some costume changes. Doubt any of them are sticking.
Now they can get started in bringing back Steph and Oracle and Wally and Cassie and Donna and Montoya and...
Supergirl's chest aiming upward is ruining the picture. It doesn't have the same iconic feel that the Supergirl dying cover had from Crisis.
This needs a cartoon series. Now.
Is that Jenni Ognats?

I vampire!
Pretty dang shocking since I rememberhim saying he had years of stories left after the reboot
My money is on him dropping it so he could launch a Shazam ongoing, since the JL backup is ending in June according to solicits.
