So my little sister is 13 and really loves math and physics and that kind of stuff. I heard this raspberry pi is all the rage right now and thought I would ask a computer science friend to bring his over so I could see if she was interested, since she'd previously told that me that CS is "for nerds"
Well she had to eat those words cuz she thought the pi was AWESOME and had a great time doing a little basic programming
I really want to get this for her as an early birthday present (I thought they were on crazy backorder but they're available right now! yay!) but I have one major problem, my CS friend isn't always going to be able to teach her what to do and I'm just an artist. I literally have no idea how to help her program this thing
What I need are some super simple books or websites on programming that a kid could understand. It would be great if they had "The Manga Guide to Programming" cuz she loves those books and they're awesome. Is there anything like that?
The "Head First" book series are very informal and people who struggle with more straight down the middle academic books tend to find they get on with them more. Might be what your looking for.
