A lot of E3 trailers had gameplay this year though. Actually, I was surprised how few of them relied on straight trailers.

Either way, I am excited and I love Bayo's new look.

I really hope that the WiiU gets a price drop because yes...I will end up buying the WiiU for this one game.

Well...this game and the new Xenoblade so two games.

    Looks absolutely fantastic.

Infested to see that we might be facing demons in this one as well as angels. Hopefully the WiiU goes down in price by next year, definitely consider picking one up based on this. So excited.

I've never liked the beehive look on anyone ever and, as my avatar can attest, I don't mind short hair.

So I'm OK with this change.

Reading some other forums, the sheer amount of hate being directed at Bayonetta 2 for daring to appear on a Nintendo console is kind of disheartening.

Those people are idiots, who probably don't understand that if Nintendo didn't bankroll the game it wouldn't exist in the first place. If you are paying for something, guess what, you decide where it goes! Fancy that.

Always like the pixie cut. Very interesting to see they traded fashion and Jean is now sporting uber long hair. Okay... I'll consider picking up a used WiiU for this and the new Xeno-whatever game.

Is that still going? I'd have thought the haters would have burned themselves out shortly after Bayo 2 was first announced.

My only worries were proprietary gimmicks bringing the gameplay down, but that trailer proves otherwise. I also can't wait for all of the inevitable Nintendo easter eggs in this game after how many nods to Sega the first game had. Dare I hold out my hopes for a Samus based costume?

You see that's what happens when you've walled yourself in Penny Arcade for so long.

My personal views have never changed: I think in this day and age exclusives are a deplorable act. This is not limited to Nintendo, but also to any console maker.

That being said, I still like to dream that Bayonetta 2 can come to other consoles (and before all you Nintendo fans pile on, it's called a dream for a reason... sheesh) for Platinum to reach a wider market. However, I understand this is pretty much the only way for Nintendo to generate any interest in the WiiU.

While I share your hatred of exclusives, I was pretty pissed that FF15 was going to be PS4 only before I decided to get a PS4.

I do understand that it is just another way to generate interest in your console, and in some ways the most important way.

I don't even own a WiiU and have ragged on it incessantly, but your post just doesn't make sense. Nintendo are financing the game. They are not going to pay to have a game they bankrolled go onto other systems, it entirely defeats the point. Bayonetta 2 is one of the few "hardcore" franchises they snaffled up that a lot of people (like me) really really want. It makes sense to encourage people to buy your system, especially when it isn't selling well and third parties are ignoring you.

The long story shortened is that Nintendo are paying for it, therefore it stays on their console and they have every single right to do so. I am just glad they saw enough merit in the IP to make a sequel, or it wouldn't exist in the first place.

And this world would be so much worse for it.

Yes, hence it's a dream. Just cause I dream about being hung like Ron Jeremy doesn't mean it's something that will factually occur.*

    semi serious

i could never stay made at Bayonetta

but that hairstyle is about as creative as a bowl cut. she looks absolutely awful. the beehive was as much a trademark of her as the gun shoes and the funk glasses this is a HUGE step down.

She's a woman, she's entitled to changing up her looks now and again. Besides, I'm 100% sure they'll include her old hair-do as an unlockable option.

Put me in the "Loves it!" column for the pixie cut though.

Bayonetta 2 to include sub-mode that is the alternate history version of Metroid: Other M where it was made by Platinum instead of The Rotting Corpse Of Team Ninja.

Okay the over the chest wrap and meg ryan haircut is practically screaming okay okay she was too sexy look she dresses like a "real woman" or whatever now lay off Anita.

the attitude and the posture is still there. She still gets naked to smack stuff up but either as a cut for this trailer or an actual change in direction they have *slightly* toned it down (all the nudes are from a distance, the devices are more actual execution as to bdsm TAKES on medieval torture devices. ITs less sex and dominatrix more sorceress and POWER POWER POWER as to sexy, yikes, sexy YIKES

Point, but the haircut feels weird because its "against" the line design of her face. She's leggy and elongated, the main direction of her lines is well DOWN and now she has this really over the top power cut gives weird look compared to the simple but complex if squinted design of before. Which was yes highly idealized but stylized for elongation. DOWN LONG, TALL, VERTICAL.. andthen uhm what?

She went from over the top European concept model to primetime actress. But that's nothing does she still have gun shoes, does she still use her legs alot hell did she manage a partial poledance! Yes YES YES. But like I said the emphasis is less oooh sooooo sexy looking epitome of the female form and more okay I'm hot but I'm really REALLY powerful.

That change in look makes sense from a story perspective (yes, yes, I realize the story from the first game was non-nonsensical garbage). Now that Bayonetta knows who she truly is, killed her father, beat the avatar of god and re-united with her Umbra sister, she's more experienced and mature (but still sexy).

Still, what's Jeanne's role going to be? Will Bayonetta also be getting Lumen powers? (some parts of the trailer seem to hint at it).

I really like the power upgrade going on here. But sadly, for some reason, I'm not liking the enemy designs much. I was hoping they would go with something else considering she's already basically decimated the majority of heaven. They certainly have the imagination and the freedom to go anywhere they want with this. The big demon dragon thing is very interesting though. She also seemed to summon a demonised version of the first major boss from the first game. It was a two headed demon dragon creature.

Probably gonna wait for impressions from the dedicated action gamers here then think about saving up for a wiiU if its really good.
