[Marvel Heroes] F2P -- Become an Agent of WANG! Guild Info in OP
They need to just patch once a month and maybe do a weekly maintenance update like most mmos, since they still try to push that aspect.
With a fairly populated test server (in fact since the test was added there was actually a small bump in the number of players per steam). And more time there couldnt hurt right?
That said nerf sticking my heroes is no way to make me want to stick around for future content
Ok I have to admit I dont really know of a good costume for black widow, i really like her classic, the movie version is barely even a variant (but somehow less cool). Even the chase is just a color change.
I guess I am just annoyed that after seeing how WELL DCUO did with costumes to see how gaz is handing there is just disappointing, I really want more options to make my char a little more unique visually (D3 also suffered horribly in this aspect). You can tell there are people very familiar with source material on both the d2 and marvel sides but when you see output like say dexter soy actually in game... it is very discouraging (600 splinters gone, i could have gotten deadpool or spiderman... or to a lesser extent jean grey).
Do you prefer the phoenix set which is basically 2-3 color swaps for 10+ bucks a piece?
I really want to see more costumes drop while just grinding chars up to 50, but after getting some players there it seems that getting 1 between 1-50 might be a little above average.
I havent bought any costumes but i did get some for free for my avenger pack. The list below is heavily weighted to my 'boss' killers because boss kills have such a higher rate of costume drops where as most of the lower guys were just burning rested on trash.
Between 1-57 my MM has gotten many many costumes all except the new warbird (i did buy the chase with splinters which is a bad idea).
Between 1-50 my Black Widow has gotten all costumes and a few dupes except chase
Between 1-50 Daredevil has gotten 1 costume
Between 1-50 my SW has gotten 0 costumes
Between 1-50 my Iron Man has gotten 1 costume (well 2 technically but the heartbreaker was an internet give away)
Between 1-50 my Punisher has gotten 2 costumes
Between 1-45 my hawkguy has gotten 0 costumes
Between 1-44 my hulk has gotten 2 costumes
Between 1-44 my cap has gotten 0 costumes
Between 1-41 my Colossus has gotten 0 costumes
Between 1-41 my Wolverine has gotten 0 costumes
Between 1-41 my cable has gotten 0 costumes
between 1-40 my storm has gotten 1 costume
between 1-40 my cyclops has gotten 1 costume
Costumes received for characters i dont own
Thor, Rocket Raccoon, black panther
Costumes from fortune cards 0.
edit: speaking of which I read on the forums (non purple post) that bonus loot still exists for first terminal boss of the day per hero red/green if you are after costumes and such
i know he "sucks" right now, but is there an iron man build anyone would suggest to get to 30/40 with? i'm currently 25 with no points spent after resets.
I hear that missiles are the way to go with Tony. Although the auto-firing missile skill may not do much damage at first, it's freaking auto-firing = free dps
Apparently, pumping points into that is good
Argh, and I broke down and bought Cable on sale - hooray for lack of focus
I think Widow's black classic is a real good costume(and it's really her most iconic one anyway). Her default one which is basically her movie costume is fine, too.
But yeah, the grey one and the original one are both ugly as sin, and the chase is super lazy.
I got to play the new zone this Saturday night when shenanigans were going on. I must say I was impressed with how fun it was. felt like the cow level, but with new and interesting monsters always ambushing you, and 4 bosses at a time in an open world actually made the fights interesting. Except if you immediately split them it becomes super lame and quick to down them.
the problem is there is no incentive to really play non midtown at the moment, and ive been grinding so many heroes just to get a possible synergy bonus they mentioned once and may change their mind on (it doesnt help i started with the heroes I thought were the most boring and do them first, only fun hero was BW but i wanted her done before the nerf).
Hawkguy is 48... and after playing punisher not so bad, but hulk is waving his mighty green hands at me.
edit: got clint to 50 right before servers came down... spins wheel... big money big money no whammies... hulk next to 50

I'm up to about 466 splinters I think. Saving 400 for Emma, but everything after that will be used on random heroes. I've got all the heroes I really want or need, so after Emma, any new heroes is just gravy.
I really, really like Punisher. My biggest complaint about him is that I wanted to really rock a flashbang/shotgun/knife type build, but right now Show No Mercy is just absolutely awful, and flashbang/shotgun could use some love as far as damage goes. I think the biggest problem is survivability. I've been stacking dodge on Frank, but he has no natural dodge skills, so until they revamp the defense system and give us another 2 artifact slots, you're pretty much stuck with one build: deadly barrage. It's definitely fun, but not the build I had been excited to make.

I dont understand channeled blasts. The damage for Cyclops at level 12 is supposed to be 560ish-1300ish per tick. But the actual results are just several tiny 99 damage bursts.
Damage reduction kills a bunch of tiny little blasts. Not a lot of reason to use it over basic attack that i can see.

It's per second, not per tick.
The issue is that it ticks multiple times per second.
Like, my Spinning Fists does something like 1000 damage per second, but it ticks three times per second.
Well even if its per second its consistently the same. There is no variation in the damage.
That is a thing that happens with all damage over time abilities like that, weirdly. I thought they had changed all the tooltips to reflect the fact that there is zero variation though.
Like before, my SF would say it does like 800-1200 damage per second or something, but it'd be the same damage every single time I use it no matter what, and then they just changed it to "Does X damage per second"
Well in addition to crappy hps (i really think there should be a line buffed based on durability), low defense (which is understandable from source material) he has no horrible movement, both the roll and dash forward, he really needs a zip line, smoke, hunker down, or skills that reduce enemy line of sight or targeting distance to him and decrease his over all threat, I have no problem with punisher being one of the highest damage characters but needing to attack from flanking position etc, but it seems they keep jacking up the numbers of DB and hoping no one will care that if anything gets close he goes down.
I was trying to play chemical mine and db frank (and i guess it works to lvl... mostly) but spending that much time dead is awful, on the plus side it made hawk guy seem... like a bad ass
I have yet to get a single 10 pack and Ive run with a few special item drop potions.
This grind to 60 is starting to wear me down. I'm 57ish and its maybe 1 Pip for every 1-1.5 hours of play. Egregiously slow. It was much, much faster before they started tweaking stuff last week.
damn they make you pick up each one eh? I haven't played since the last patch. did they ever fix the splinter drop rate?
My drop rates have varied wildly, one of the issues is likely sprinting to bosses in MM causes you to movement damage several mobs on your way there and that is where your splinters are getting lose when those guys die. They really need to make the damn things appear on the mini map. Ive varied from 11 an hr to 4 depending on the day, the position of the moon and the alignment of uranus.
Is it wrong that Im just sitting here thinking to myself they are going to fuck this up so hard?
In addition nerfing the skill that everyone is using to survive sounds necessary, but everyone is speced or geared around it going to cause quite a bit of annoyance, because the majority of people I know will have to regear. (and sounds like crit will be next on the chopping block?)
The next obstacle is that gaz really cant create balance for poop. As usual their promises sound fantastic, but the final product (well product of the patch) has so far always failed to meet expectations (MORE SPLINTERS!... oh i guess less splinters) we never nerf (except for you black widow and jean grey), we dont want and didnt expect so many people at max level, but hey we are going to make it easier to get there... NEW CONTENT!... or ya know just replay the current content at higher levels for FAT LOOTS... did we say phat loots? We meant 33% more greens 10% more blues 2% more purples and oops my bad -3% more cosmics (come on you know this is more likely than their actual promise). it could totally happen.
Overall the game is bearing less and less resemblance to the steaming pile that was released which really only appealed to my sense of fanboyism for both d2 and marvel, and tickled my nethers with the promises of future improvements, but even my rabid fanboyism and questionable reasoning for wanting to play emma is waning.
Heroic and superheroic story modes. Play through the story again at high-levels for the best experience, credits and loot.
Will you get the bonus points and HP/SP again?
I'm so more interested in the increased rates of credits. I feel so much of crafting is locked behind this massive credit barrier, but the most important thing in my opinion is optimization, the game runs like ass when more then 3 people appear on screen regardless of graphic settings for me.
Well, I gotta give the dev team credit. Seems like they're really stepping up to the plate in terms of trying to make the game better. We'll have to wait and see if they succeed of course, but still I like that they're trying so hard.
3 hrs today for 10 splinters (greens - doom) (reds through sinister) and MM for a level of hulk (46)... its farkin killing me as far as the splinters are concerned, i had a prism drop but a pyms shrinking show up in my vendor, anyone need a shrink(44)? a black widow belt with 8 dodge (31) (not sure how much longer that will be useful) a Ms Marvel belt with 10.8 dodge, cable lvl 31 belt with 10 crit? I keep holding onto items thinking Ill see some of you guys in game but I never do.
extremely disappointing as far as the splinter drops go, makes me want to go play other games.

I actually specifically bought and only use her grey suit. Because that's what I remember her wearing when I was reading.

I'm with you. I expect the game to be completely unplayable for at least 2 weeks after this patch. At least half the classes will be broken.
The problem being, I don't expect them to hit a 50% success rate on this patch, given their track record.
Does anyone have a link or something to Emma's powers or something? I'd like to preview what she'd be like.
extremely disappointing as far as the splinter drops go, makes me want to go play other games.
(I got mine last week purely by chance.)
