Designing a Website

So, I've been put in charge of getting a website up for my High School radio station. We've got server space, so hosting won't be a problem. I've got the basic idea of features and side pages written down. However, I know jack about actually designing a decent looking website.

Originally, the plan was to hand that part of the project over to some graphics arts/design students, but senioritis has kicked in pretty badly and no-one seems willing to take up the extra work.

So, we've got a bit of money to kick around and I'm sure the station manager wouldn't mind spending some of it for a really nice looking, simple, functional site. I turn to you, H/A forum, for where I should go to get that website made.

my question is, do you need someone to simply design the site and you would do the coding, or do you actually need someone to design it and code it too? if you've got some experience with different programs I would suggest you use photoshop to actually create the layout, imageready to slice it all up and get the basic code, then use dreamweaver along with notepad++ to add the substance. of course, you'll need a bit of prior knowledge with all of these programs in order to make something really good looking.

but...if you're looking for someone else to do it, send me a PM and i can either refer you to some people i know, or i could possibly help you out if you dont want to spend much $$. but i would suggest you at least give it a go yourself, it's really not difficult to get a very simple but still great looking site with those programs and some basic HTML know-how.

I'd need the design and the coding done, good point.

I wouldn't mind making a go of it myself, but I'm fairly booked up as it is with other projects. Seeing as how we've got the budget for a design and coding job, I don't mind outsourcing the job one bit.
