Adding users to conversation is unhelpful

If you add someone to a conversation, it doesn't pop the message to the top of their inbox.
Nor is there any easy or humanly discoverable way to sort by read/unread.
So essentially when someone adds me to a conversation that is even remotely old, it means I have that message permanently "New" but unlocatable in my inbox.
Hence why i consider my inbox "empty" when it only has 2 messages in it.
A way to do this would be exceptionally helpful.
Also, a checkbox next to messages to allow faster/easier deletion would be great.
Currently I have to open every message and delete it (and confirm) from there.
Since I get hundreds of PMs over the course of running Secret Satans, this means my inbox is limited to "Can I see the message when I log in? No? Then I'll never, ever find it"
