Tablet PC won't connect to laptop Ad-Hoc Network

GodfatherGodfather Registered User regular
The other day I set up an Ad Hoc on my laptop for the first time in order to use wireless internet on my Samsung 7 slate tablet pc. It worked great at the time and I had no issues that evening.

Today I haven't been able to have any success getting a solid connection. My tablet pc recognizes the ad hoc network and is connected to it, but it states that it is a 'limited' connection, an anytime I try to surf the web I get the dreaded DNS error. I've tried using a DNS jumper but that doesn't seem to be the issue here; it's probably an issue with the DHCP on my laptop but i'll be damned if I know how to fix that.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? I'm pretty sure this is a simple fix but I just can't figure it out!

Andorid 4's Ad-Hoc support is broken... It's a known problem.
I know, odd, right? I found that out when my internet went down and I was using my cell phone as a backup though my PC and ad-hocking the wireless card in the back.
There is a patch, but you have to have a rooted device.

Never mind,I'm a big dumb. I read it as Nexus 7 and not Samsung 7.

Ooph, I still can't figure this thing out.

It's something that i've been tinkering with for days and i've had no success. Again, something to do with the DHCP and/or TCP/IP settings. It's like something got changed and I don't know how to fix it
