How do you watch this team 30 times a year?

With beer. Lot and lots of beer

It never ceases to amaze me that Wisconsin is a team that made the Ed Dechellis offense look exciting.

Wisconsin's going to win because Burke is forcing things. This is awesome.

Can't CBS veto the result? We all would rather see Michigan-Indiana.

Credit to Wisconsin for getting away with it. But they undercut shooters so that everyone is afraid to land. And Ryan Evans travels all the fucking time.

Didn't see it mentioned, but it bears noting that 3 of the 4 teams left in the Big East tournament are ACC-bound.

Thread title brings a smile the my face and warms my heart. I approve.

Honestly though, neither team deserved to win and Indiana should have just got a bye tomorrow. I just hope the Badgers can keep it close enough to be respectable

I hate that team so much. More than pretty much any program anywhere. Except MSU hockey under Ron Mason, which similarly clutched and grabbed and killed everything enjoyable about the sport they were playing.

At least OSU football and Izzo coached teams don't actively destroy the game.

Go whatever 12/13 gets Wisconsin. Do God's work.

EDIT: Also, assuming the favorites win tonight, I might honest to God be rooting for Ohio State to win this tournament. Yuck.

    Go Hawkeyes.

2 for 16 from 3 point range with 8 minutes left. Good GOD, Duke. Make SOMETHING.

    Or don't?

I would be fine with them not making anything

aww fuck, Dez Wells goes down

This would basically clinch Indiana as the #1 overall, no?

What's the opposite of fun? Watching your team miss twenty-one 3s.

I'm shocked a Tom Izzo coached team is getting the benefit of questionable officiating late in a game.

Also, Iowa just fell apart for like 8 minutes, with a bid on the line and up 10.

agrhagh. Iowa, why are you not trying to rebound on that shot? I wanna slap the dude just watching it when suddenly "oh shit, that's headed my way"

  • enlightenedbumenlightenedbum Registered User regular
Iowa should still get in, they're better than all of the bottom of the bubble teams.

They won't, and they'll cruise to the NIT title.

This is how I cheered myself up. Plus Michigan hockey is inexplicably red hot right now after an awful season.

EDIT: Also why, in the end, for all its innumerable flaws, I will defend college sports to the death.

Part of me doesn't want us to win this game because a) I don't want to watch them play Wisconsin, well . . . ever, and b) I feel pretty confident that we're a low 2 or very high 3 seed and we'll be largely unaffected by today's or tomorrow's outcome.

Also, "warming up" for the NCAAs by playing a game against Wisconsin, is like warming up for a piano concert by boxing.

That should be a flagrant 1 and for all intents and purposes, the game.

In other Big Ten news, Bill Carmody was fired. Which makes me sad. I always liked him and felt awful the last couple years when they fell just short of the dance.

I think to the rest of the country, 'fuck Wisconsin' could apply to almost any sport because this is just how Badger athletics operate on a macro level. Basketball, football, hell, even the hockey team.

I have a new soccer blog The Minnow Tank. Reading it psychically kicks Sepp Blatter in the bean bag.

Those teams don't intentionally ruin the sport they're playing. I'm fine with them, especially now that Bielema is gone.

And I'm rooting for Ohio State tomorrow.

DO YOU SEE WHAT YOU MADE ME DO, BO RYAN?!?

Yeah, with football I had no problem with the Barry Alvarez teams (except the year they went to the Rose instead of Ohio State because of dumb tie-breaks). It was always "Fuck Bret Bielema". Which it continues to be, just not at Wisconsin anymore.

Hey look, more unwatchable basketball. Seriously, the NCAA needs to emphasize hand check rules in the offseason and make sure that shit gets called. There were points last night when Louisville had two hands on Michael Carter-Williams and nothing was called.

Ohio State won the championship in the hardest conference with 1 out of 16 three-point shots.

    Huh.
