Free Video Editing Software

Hey guys, I'm just looking for something that I can use to cut out some useless parts in a video I have. Is there anything out there that can do this for free?

    It depends upon the type of format the video was encoded, you could try Virtualdub, and AVICHOP for avi files, Cuttermaran or MPEG2Cut for mpeg files.
