I was playing King of Fighters '98 for an assignment, and was having a lot of fun with it... that is, until I hit a brick wall in the form of an obnoxious loli pop singer named Athena Asamiya. I never liked this character, and she only seems to get more overpowered and irritating with every new game in the series. If she wants to win a match, she'll do it, sometimes taking out all three of your team members with her teleporting and energy hurling antics. The most terrifying weapon in her arsenal, of course, is her high-pitched, Japanese accented voice which perfectly accentuates her hellishly annoying moves. "Ti-gah BAAAAAU! Ti-gah BAAAAAU!" she squeals as she pounds your fighters into a gritty paste. For my money, she's the most infuriating Japanese schoolgirl this side of the dumb bitch who shouts "SIT, Inuyasha!" every damn day on Adult Swim.
So, are there any video game characters that really get under your skin? You know, characters that somehow manage to find their way into every sequel of an otherwise great series despite their unrelenting aggravation?

I found Bao and Malin even more annoying, although Asamiya's most recent soundbytes make me bite controllers.

Nothing but hadokens! If you get close, jump kick followed by a sweep. He will do the sweep regardless of how close you are.
It just seems no matter what I do, he will always drain me of a few continues. Even tried using M. Bison and nothing but his LK, which beats Ryu's hadoken in terms of speed getting it off and connecting, but Ryu still beats me. %^*&!

I hate that asshole. It really makes me wonder what the tone of the game is, in Japanese. I wanted this game to be anything but "zany" but it IS more often than not.
Natalya from Goldeneye (or bullet sponge) is another story all together.
not really, it started off with Carnivore saying all sonic franchise characters excluding Sonic, Tails and Knuckles. then hoodie13 raised the counterpoint of E-101Beta, as this is a sonic franchise character who is awesome, but lies outside of the "Sonic/Tails/Knuckles" excepted group of decent characters. I then suggested some futher examples of more awesome Sonic characters.
