With all this talk of Brutal Legend, I just want to say that I went to the record store from the live action intro all the time, and it's the best record store in town. So THERE.
Totally agree. If I was going to look for a quasi-mythical and possibly arcane record, that's where I would start.
Wait wait... I thought when you sent gifts through e-mail you'd usually get a steam key. That didn't happen just now.
Did I screw up?
If you send a Steam gift through email, the person gets a warning and they can activate it on their account or store it in their inventory. No keys are involved.
IndieRoyale are doing a bundle with Serious Same 3: BFE in it for cheaper if you're interested, Steam redeemable. http://www.indieroyale.com/
I'm not planning on buying it, I just thought it would be hilarious to see Serious Sam 3 priced at around $1.20
ah ok. What's strange is that the game is cheaper at full price with the discount, than what it is discounted to at the moment. It's a wonder the coupon doesn't override the price.
Picked up awesomenauts at the last minue, should have grabbed the three pack to give a couple away super fun little game. Add me if you picked it up and want to play.
So I've just upgraded the hell out of my computer, shiny new 7870 and an SSD (as well as a new case/motherboard/power supply) any recommendations for games that will look extra amazing now that are fairly cheap?
Recent and pretty games I'd say are:
Sleeping Dogs (Sometimes goes on sale for around $12-$15)
Battlefield 3 (Been at $9.99 a few times already)
The Witcher 2 (Didn't it go for $7.50 a few weeks ago?)
Need for Speed Most Wanted (Still at full retail price)
Batman Arkham City (This game is always on sale)
Max Payne 3 (Was $14.99 on Amazon a few weeks ago)
Those are the ones I can think of, with The Witcher 2 being the most graphically intense game there.

Does anyone know anything about this Conquest of Elysium 3 game? I don't have too many friends who have it.

It's pretty good stuff. It's got a lot of qualities in common with roguelikes, with procedural map generation and lots of neutral mobs to beat on. There are a ton of different factions, all of them pretty different, requiring different strategies and army builds to achieve victory. Combat is automatically resolved, so army composition is very important. The factions have a surprising amount of flavor considering the simple graphics, this is mainly due to the units and the creative spells and heroes that the various factions can obtain.
At the current price it's a steal if you like games like the old turn based Warlords games or Master of Magic with more of a roguelike direction instead of 4X.
@Shadowfire, it's not ideal but you can run the link you send yourself through a link shortener like is.gd to get something that will look a bit nicer in a written card (and be easier to type).
EDIT: Dammit, Drake is making me covet games again. Where'd all my arrows go...
Book of Unwritten Tales. I've had it on my wishlist forever because I loved adventure games years ago. It's on sale today, anyone have any thoughts on it?
I just got a weird/different pop up for a steam update, said it was 110,241 kb. From what I've read, I think it's the Steam Client Beta, even though I never signed up for it.

Done, though I suspect our timezones might be an issue.
As a point to anyone who picked up Awesomenauts in the sale/was gifted it by people I'll happily put myself forwards as a guide if you want to add/PM me any questions/desires to play with me.
I'm not an expert on EVERY character, but I can certainly help people who are new and don't understand how do MOBA.
You know what, for someone with zero knowledge of football handegg Blood Bowl is pretty incredible. The AI is kind of incompetent but the multiplayer has been super enjoyable so far.
Whoah why do we have a new thread already? Last one didn't even reach 100 if I remember correctly.
Anyways...
Is Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition even avaiable for PC? All I want is to smash some Zombies as Albert Wesker with kick-ass moves :P Is the non-DLC version enough for that? Wish it was on sale somewhere right now.

Base RE:5's Mercenary mode has Albert Wesker available to unlock (some ridiculous score to get him though). He stabs zombies in the heart, with his fist.

I really liked the demo, and I generally dislike adventure game gameplay, which is a shame because I find settings refreshing, but what I saw was transparent, logical, and fun. It also appears to be the best Terry Prachett game ever made.

I love that game to death. It was so much fun and had so many literal laugh-out-loud moments. I played it straight through, which is something I almost never do (edit: took me about 17 hour to complete, just as an FYI). It's worth at least $10 and is a total steal at $5.
Everyone should buy it and play it now. Seriously. Now. Go go go!

Hey, sent a request to you two also. I picked it up in the sale and would be good to have some co-op partners.
Also, I have two extra copies to spare. What's the best way of giving them out? I saw steamgifts being used in some other posts, how does that work?

Because I want to put my money where my mouth is and I really want to support this dev and see more from them... here is my Valentine's Day gift to you, my sweet sweet Steam thread:
(closes Saturday night, 7:30PM EST)
Just please only enter if you are actually going to at least try the game as it is one that really deserves to be played. It's that good. I promise.

The BL thread is up, with a unit and solo guide. Due to the character limit I had to cut some stuff out, but that will all come with time.

Gods & Kings makes CiV a thousand times better. Like, it's science and impossible to refute.
Thus, it's even more addicting.
This it was written in @Drovek 2:18.
It being written in a religious text makes it even more impossible to refute.

Not a key, but a link. If you send the gift to your own email you get an activation link that you can copy and send to someone.

Someone tried to put an apple over it and hit it with an arrow.
It didn't go exactly as planned.

@Drake I think. Unless I'm thinking of something else, but I don't think so:)
