The GBA is on the way out...isn't that depressing?
You know, I was in Best Buy today picking up Dawn of Sorrow and I noticed that the GBA section is looking downright pitiful, there were maybe 10 different games to pick from...
Does anyone else find it kind of depressing that by this time next year we may not see GBA games in stores anymore?
So, what GBA games are must-haves that I should track down while I still have the chance?

even though you passed it up for DoS, TMNT is starting to feel really good, and while your at it, see if you can find Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the sith, made by ubisoft as well, and damn it, really solid.
(the DS version is also applicapable, one of those games where its the same thing, with maybe 1 or 2 differences, minor stuff mapped to the touch screen.)
I was heading to a party on saturday that I wasn't particularly keen to go to and I thought that a GBA micro would have been perfect. Methinks I shall pick one up and finally round out my GBA collection
I got my first GBA on the day it launched (the old horizontal Afterburner-needin' GBA) when I was about to get my wisdom teeth out. That made a week that should have sucked hard suck less.
If you want a micro you will almost certainly have to go through ebay, unless you are lucky enough to find one in a retail store. I looked all over and everywhere was sold out.
I think we still have a little stock in our stores. Either that or I'll harrass our buyer to pick up a few for online only distribution. We had a bundle for $49 Canadian with the micro and some bloody pokemon vid - I should have picked it up then.
I was just going through my GBA library and I noticed that I really need to get Klonoa 2. I really enjoyed the first game--I don't know why I didn't end up being the sequel. Hmm.
Also, Harmony of Dissonance & Aria of Sorrow, of course, even though I didn't like Circle of the Moon so much.
Man I remember when Nintendo said the DS wouldn't be replacing the GBA, that they'd both continue on seperate Markets.
What a load of crap. Ahh well.
Anyway, go for Metroid Zero Mission if you can find it. Pokemon Emerald, Wario Ware Twisted, and Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green are what I suggest.

Or to...Wal*Mart. They're practically bursting through the glass cases.
I can't really blame retailers. They've got to come up with space for the PS3, Wii, Xbox 360, PSP and DS. In addition to that, the PS2, Cube and GBA are still technically being supported by their manufacturers, and there's still plenty of Xbox 1 games to be sold. Somewhere along the line something has to get squeezed out.
That said, the GBA still outsold the PS3 last month.
I'm still hoping Nintendo is bringing Bit Generations here, since it's on ESRB's website and everything, and since the GBA still has a decent following in the States.
Also, I don't know what you folks are talking about, I can find Micros all over the dang place. The local Walmart has them for fifty bucks.
And Advance Wars. The only problem with Boktai is when it rains down in africa. But yes, I feel all kinds of sad by the prospect of not seeing GBA-games in-store soon. Fortunately the swedish market isn't flooded with bootleg copies of GBA-games (or I've been lucky, I feel lucky, am I lucky?) so one can grab games anyway.

Or you know, maybe Best Buy just sucks, and that's all there is to it.
I've been really into GBA games since I got my Micro a few months ago, and it does sadden me that it's on its way out. There's still a ton of games I need to pick up though.

I had a blast playing through Zelda: The Minish Cap. Totally underated game, and really doesn't deserve all the hate it gets on the boards.
There are so many fucking awesome games on the GBA. If you like side scrollers, you owe it to yourself to grab Mega Man Zero 2 (or 3, or 4), Castlevania: Circle of the Moon or Aria of Sorrow, Astro Boy: Omega Factor (like Alien Soldier, only with melee attacks), and a bitch-fuck load of others.
That system probably had the most impressive lineup out of all last gen's systems, including the PS2, XBox, and Cube.
There's a fair amount of room for 3rd parties to get a shot at that GBA user base now that Nintendo is focusing on the DS. How was the recent GBA port of Sonic 1? I'm tempted to get it even though I own it in 2 collections already.

TERRIBLE
Seriously, fucked up beyond all reasoning. Do Not Play.
And I remember it having only one game in which the fun transcended the generational gap. And that game was Zelda. The GBA was the first really good Nintendo handheld.
Just so you know, that was an invitation to start posting examples of awesome games, so that I might try them out and stand corrected. Not that there's a great likelihood in that happening, but hey.

Tetris?
Dr. Mario?
Mario Land 1/2?
Wario Land 1/2/3?
Trax? (<- So awesome)
Contra?
Donkey Kong 94?
Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 was most enjoyable, and a refreshing change of pace for Nintendo(fuck princesses, let's steal some treasures and buy the Moon!)

Man, what?
I can imagine my grandparents playing Tetris. I cannot in a zillion years imagine them playing Zelda.
...of course, they're all dead, so it's kind of a moot point.

The GBA probably has one of the best libraries of all time.
Agree? y/n.
Agree strongly. Its library is insanely strong. If I had time right now I'd sit here and list out great games, but I have to go to work. Maybe somebody else will do it for me.
Minish Cap and Advance Wars 1/2 both immediately come to mind. The original Wario Ware. Golden Sun 1/2. Many others... no time!
It's inevitable. My phone plays better games, which look prettier and are more complex, in a more convenient way. Plus I can get games for it much more easily and cheaper than paying £20 for a cartridge.
I hope Nintendo teams up with someone and makes a VC-style thing for mobiles. It'd be awesome.
Racing Gears Advance! Might be a little tough to see on a Micro, but soooo good. Does the Micro have the ability to link up with the Gamecube?
The only GBA games I still want are ones that are damn near impossible to find. Ninja Five-0 and Car Battler Joe. Also, Donkey Kong 94 or whatever it was called for the GBC.
I actually got a brand new GBA game for Christmas last year. Capcom Classics: Mini Mix (I think that's what it was called). NES original versions of Bionic Commando, Strider and Mighty Final Fight. I loved Strider as a kid, but the flicker and slowdown is so much worse than I remember it. It was tough to play. Bionic Commando, on the other hand, is still fucking brilliant.
Come to think of it, weren't there 2 Bionic Commando games for one of the pre-advance Gameboys? That's a franchise I wish would get reborn for now-gen.
There was also an original Ninja Gaiden game for the original Gameboy. It's sweet.
I just bought a new GBA for the wife. We have over 100 gba games, so she wants to make sure she has back-up gba's before they disappear off of the store shelves. I've tried to move her into the DS, but she still likes playing the GBA roleplaying games like Tactics Ogre and Golden Sun.

And how in the hell did this repost-deal happen?
I just got to the last level in AW2 last week.
I may finally beat this damned thing!

Astro boy was also pretty good (made by treasure)!
Other than that I dont have any GBA games that I liked (see: boktai) and I dont really like the system as a whole that much.
And if you can't come up with more than three good games on the GBA, either you have very narrow taste or haven't looked very hard.
Wait, what?
The only real complaint I've ever heard about it is that it's too short.
Agree? y/n.
Also, everyone should buy Bit Generations games. Especially Soundvoyager and Orbital.
