Not an interesting problem

Hey, I posted this in the H/A board, but, figured it might be better suited for here.

I bought NWN2 today, but my cd-rw drive doesn't detect the disk. Put it in, busy led light blinks for about 10-15 seconds, but it doesn't detect a disk in the drive at all. I have a Sony CRX216E.

I'm unable to find any drivers for it online at all. I'm running Windows XP.

Has anyone ever had this happen to them, or know what it might be, and how I can fix it?

Are the disks DVDs and if so does your drive read DVDs?

No, not DVDs. And nope, not a DVD drive.

Are there any other disks that does this as well? If not then you may have just gotten a bad disk.

If you've only got a single disk you definitely have a DVD. NWN2 is huge.

We all have. Be it freaking out that your computer died because it wasn't plugged in, or trying to find the hat you misplaced upon your head.

Or locking your keys in your house twice in a day because I thought they were in my pocket. Both times.

NWN2 isn't sold on CD format, or at least if it was ever sold on that format I will be angry because I purchased a DVD ROM for the express purpose of playing it.

Actually I puchased a DVD R/W because it's only like $30 more for a decent one over a plain old DVD drive.

Now if I could only find some decent DVD burning software I'd be able to take advantage of that additional $30 :P

I actually have an old DVD drive from 3 years ago. Its been sitting in my old computer, and I've been putting off taking it out. I spent half an hour ripping apart the case just now, as I don't have the proper tools to remove the DVD-ROM properly.

T'was fun. I cut myself rather badly.

Hahahahahaha. What makes this one funny is... I actually intended to buy STALKER first, but it was only in DVD format. So I returned it, and bought NWN2.

I don't understand how there are still people who don't have DVD-ROMs.

    I bought an E-Machines computer in 1999 that had a DVD-ROM.

I've got a stack of old DVD-ROM drives that's like, twelve high. I use them as geeky bookends, because I can never bring myself to throw out old, but working hardware.

My husband stole my DVD-ROM for his computer, so I just have a CD-RW.

I'm just glad I can map it across the network to install ze games.

I think some cases may require stupid proprietary tools for assembly. Which is absolutely retarded, but whatever.

The screws were... odd. Like... the part in the top is just a circle. Blank circle. And the other side has a nut welded. I guess I could use a wedge and hammer, but easier(and far more satisfying) to simply rip off the hard plastic parts.
