    "No need to run to the Ophthalmology, you read right, Sonic Team developed NiGHTS has been confirmed by both Sega and Nintendo this morning. Rumors reached its peek this past week as pictures published on Nintendo’s official periodical Official Nintendo Magazine circulated throughout the web illustrating what seemed to be the acrobatic protagonist of NiGHTS formed by stars laid out on a pitch black sky with two white bold-lettered words “World Exclusive”. Both parties involved with the NiGHTS project have both stated that this won’t be a port of Sega Saturn’s 1996 title for the Nintendo Wii’s Virtual Console; Instead the untitled game will amplify the franchise making it it’s official sequel.     There are two Sonic Teams. Sonic Team USA did Adventure 1, 2, Heroes, Shadow and the Next-gen Sonic. Sonic Team Japan did Sonic Riders and Sonic and the Secret Rings.

    Uh, the "official" confirmation is from Spong. That's Live Nintendo's source.

    I have discovered that Spong loves posting bullshit news.

    considering how many times i've seen headings that say "NIGHTS FOR WII CONFIRMED OFFICIAL FOR REAL DUDERS" pop up on my rss feeds, i'm going to just assume it's all lies until sega sends out a press release.

    For fucks sake man. Don't make threads like this unless its actually confirmed. I.e. a fucking screenshot, and a fucking press release. Or at least a proper site. Not a fucking fan site (regardless of who runs it) - I don't know that.

    The NiGHTS sequel has become the worst kept secret in the games industry at this point.

    For crying out loud let the offical press release happen.

    Yeah, the guy who works for SEGA.... has he ever actually proven that? Because so many bloggers "work" for a whole lot of companies when it suits them.

    I swear Nights has become the new Kid Icarus in the sense that somehow it gathered this amazing rep amongst the internet masses even though the game itself was a good not great game. This news gets me about as excited as it would if they announced a Clockwork Knight sequel.

    Sega just never fit in my life anywhere. I was told that Sega did something that Nintendidn't, but I didn't care.

    Nights was alright but I don't know a sequel probaly will be mediocre at best

    I doubt it will be confirmed though anytime soon but meh.

    Well shit. Then I never played Saturn. Though I could have sworn I played it in a store and I was playing this platformer game as a green dude made out of green balls.

    Why?

    You flew around, collected orbs throughout stages, had a boss fight, then sometimes there was a bonus stage every now and then where you could collect lots more orbs.

    Granted I haven't played the game since I was in middle school so I could be forgetting some kind of magic that made the game amazing, but can you or someone please remind me why Nights was a divine gift from God?

    I remember playing NiGHTS at the Best Buy when I was little. It was fun and very pretty at the time, but I never actually bought it because I didn't have a Saturn.

    Anyway I really doubt this is official. At least right now.
