Executive Producer for Blood wants to remake the game Atari says NO

I am literally vomiting with rage right now. Oh God it's everywhere, I'm going to need a towel to clean this up. Good God, this keyboard is a lost cause, where's the trash?

Blood is my favorite game of all time. Jace Hall Executive Produced Blood and is a big enough fan that he wants to remake it for a new generation. For some reason Atari is doing nothing but sitting on the license not doing anything with it, but also killing any attempts to revive it.

Let's discuss.



P.S. I'm such a big fan of Blood that I actually have a decently sized design doc for a proper sequel including everything from level and plot outlines to over a dozen pieces of concept art. This would be a dream project for me to produce.

P.P.S. Here is a link to the original game on GoG, I recommend that any oldschool shooter fan check this out. It is one of the best classic FPSes ever made.

    I've bought the game multiple times, I still have my original box as well as the version I bought on GoG. If they re-released it on consoles or on PSN so that I could play it on PS3 and Vita, I'd buy again without question.

    This game was amazing. I used to play a lot of mp Duke Nukem, it was always our 'fall back' game when we got tired of other things. When Blood came along it totally replaced Duke for my and my friends. The sequel never grabbed me, but damn if I didn't spend a year of my life obsessed with this game.

    To this day I name all my lead female characters Ophelia.

    I still quote this game and get people who recognize the lines, so hearing that it's not being allowed to rise up again makes me want to reach for a flare gun.

    Blood had the best shotgun ever. Also, flareguns. I really have nothing to add other than Blood is amazing and anything that keeps people from playing it is stupid.

    From what I hear Atari has even been refusing to allow the original developers to release the source code so that they could do stuff like the Duke Nukem 3D projects. Whyyyyyy?
